This was one of my Daddy's favorite sayings. What he was attempting to teach, is the fact that, as we live, we will encounter different situations that will either add to or take away from our ongoing experience of life. He would always add to this, that we needed to be on guard so that the Devil could not use us as pawns in his evil plans. Amazingly, even though I am in my sixth decade of living, I still, from time to time, forget his words and allow myself to be used to cause someone to stumble. Is it any wonder that the New Testament is filled with instructions to guard our hearts and to grow in grace and to walk in obedience. I encourage you to renew your commitment, seek His will and daily walk in obedience, all the while, avoiding the opportunity to give place to the evil one. Stay focused and stay faithful... Remember, The Best Is YET to Be!
