April 19, 2020 “LORD, TEACH US TO PRAY” LUKE 11:1
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina…
“One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” Luke 11:1 NIV
n times like these, we need to be focused on prayer and the One that we pray to. Over the last few days, many have contacted me with the same thought; “Pray for me!” As I reflect on the challenges and the issues that we are enduring, I know that the only way to survive is in direct communication with our God, through His Son, Jesus, in prayer. I can remember, as a child, when things were good and when things were tough, I was always instructed to pray! Folks; prayer is essential, for our survival! The Disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray. It was important then, and it is important today! Is prayer essential in your life? Are you praying every day? Jesus left us a model prayer and we ought to, as believers, to be engaged in direct communication with Him, daily. We can always pray like this: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen (Matthew 6:9-13). As Luke 11:1 says, “Lord, teach us to pray….I, am asking that He: Teach us that prayer is important, Teach us that prayer is a privilege, Teach us that prayer is essential, Teach us that prayer gives us power to overcome the world!” Keep Praying, God is listening! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…Remember, THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
Please continue to share with others and to lift each other up in prayer! In His Love, Pastor Glen
