April 08, 2020 “Where Are You Living? On The Mountain Top or Below The ‘Snake
Line?’”
Isaiah 40:31, “But they that wait upon the Lord, shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint!”
Naturalists tell us many interesting things about nature and God’s creation. For example, in the mountainous region of New England, if a person is going to purchase a farm, they might ask this question before they ever see the farm, “Is the far above the ‘Snake Line?’” If it is, they would probably be more tempted to purchase it.
What is meant by “Snake Line,” is this: the upper altitudes are not invaded by certain creatures and the division is what the Naturalists call the “invisible snake line.” It seems as though God created a certain group of reptiles and said to them, in effect, “You snakes cannot crawl to the top of the mountains. You can only come to a certain altitude and that is it—no farther!”
That is the reason that someone interested in purchasing a farm in the mountainous region of New England would ask, “Is the farm above the ‘Snake Line?’” They are saying, “I don’t want to live with the sneaky snakes that hide under bushes and leaves and bite me when I walk by. I don’t want to live with the rats that would contaminate my food; I want a place above the ‘Snake Line!’”
The scriptures speak also of an invisible spiritual dividing line. The division comes with what we do with Christ. Those who live in sin are living below the “Snake Line” and are exposed to the dangers and sure death of sinful living. It is so sad to see one who has completely given himself over to Satan. Mark 5 tells of the man that Christ delivered from an extreme case. Christ caused a division; before that man met Him, demons controlled him, but after Christ came and delivered him, he was himself once again.
The Bible speaks about those who live below the “Snake Line” spiritually and God says, “Come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord…” (II Corinthians 6:17). Where are you dwelling? Are you living below the “Snake Line,” or are you living on the Mountaintop? Circumstances, situations do not determine our dwelling place, it is our decision. As we approach Easter, may we truly appreciate God’s amazing gift of Jesus and His saving act at Calvary. It is through the shed blood of Jesus that allows us to choose to live below the “Snake Line,” or on the Mountaintop! I pray that you are dwelling securely on the Top of The Mountain and are calling out to those who are below the “Snake Line”: “Come out from among them…..” May God bless you as you grow in HIS grace! Stay Strong, Stay Focused...Remember, THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
NOTE: Communion on Sunday…Have your juice and bread ready! We will celebrate and honor the sacrifice and the amazing Love that God has for us when he sent Jesus to die for our sins! Praise God for HIS Love for us…
