June 11 A PRAYER FILLED LIFE Colossians 1:9-12
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:” Colossians 1:9-12
Calamities, confusion, pandemics, emotions, protests, rioting, and the list, goes on and on. Today’s information changes constantly. What are we to believe? What are we to trust? How are we to act? The one absolute, that becomes crystal clear, in the light of recent events, is that “just plain ole Common Sense” has taken a vacation! Believers, there is one true, constant and overriding fact that we can depend on, regardless of the current and popular thoughts of the World, and that is, THAT GOD LOVES YOU AND THROUGH HIS SON JESUS, WE CAN HAVE JOY IN THE MIDST OF THE STORM AND PEACE IN THE MIDST OF THE STRUGGLE! Just remember, Satan and his evil minions are diligently doing their jobs and we must stay focused on what is real and pure and edifying to our God! Please pray for the safety of those who are exercising their right to disagree and pray for those who are on the front lines of this present struggle and controversy. Just yesterday, I was asked to comment on the situation that has unfolded in our land, and I asked a question, instead of giving a direct answer. I asked, “What is your solution and where would you expect this to go?” No answer! Keep in mind, the World with all of its intentions, can only do so much, so, please continue to hold fast to the promises of God and “Pray, Pray, Pray” for each other, even those who you disagree with, and be assured that God will take care of you! Recently, I heard a young lady talking to another lady, and she said, “We are all in the same boat in this mess!” Well, that’s not totally accurate. We are all in the same storm, however, each one of us are in different situations and positions within the storm. As believers, we are all fighting the same fight against this invisible opponent. Granted, some of us are fighting with more intensity and focus, than others. The main difference, in our battle, is our committed prayer life! Through prayer, we get a renewed and continuous connection with the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit, and He alone, that makes the difference! Through the Holy Spirit, our hearts are fortified and energized to face the challenges and to prosper through them. Every one of us; have faced, are facing and will face, difficulties and challenges. The key to survival is our strong and growing prayer life! Isn’t it amazing what Satan will do and who he will use to promote his evil agenda and to attempt to keep believers in Jesus, off balance and distracted! During this COVID19 pandemic and the Civil unrest of late, I am surviving, even thriving, because I have chosen to “Hunker Down” in God’s Word and to double my prayer time, and to fully depend on the Promises of God and to Stay Strong, Stay Focused….AND I AM REMEMBERING AND CLAIMING, THAT THE BEST IS YET TO BE!!!
Dear Lord, we are claiming Your Grace for the struggle, and we are claiming Your protection for the battle and we are claiming Your provision through this storm and we are grateful for Your mercies! Keep us focused and keep us strong and cause us to dig deeper in Your Word and to call on Your name daily…Father God, in Jesus Name, honor our prayer and, through the Holy Spirit, direct our paths….TO GOD BE THE GLORY! AMEN
