June 26 “Am I Going Crazy?” Hebrews 6:19
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” (Hebrews 6:19-20)
When we observe the activities and the reactionary moves by, seemingly intelligent people, and the “wave” of, what can only be described as “Evil,” that has gripped our nation, how are we to cope? Recently, I asked the question, “Am I going crazy?” We are facing a real challenge! How do we manage and how do we live, as Christians, in such a hostile and ultra- sensitive world? It appears that the “popular thought” today is to be offended by something and then work to eradicate it. In my quiet prayer time, just a few days ago, I pondered when the Bible will be the next target of those who are offended by everything and there will be a “politically correct” call for it to be eliminated?” Life today, is like a ship that is tossed about in a storm. If we aren’t careful, we can be set adrift on the uncontrollable waves of distress and evil! How are we to cope? We have to remember, like my daddy used to tell me, “When troubles come, like waves in the sea, you must ‘ANCHOR DEEP!’” Christians, we have an anchor that is Jesus Christ and the Power of the Holy Spirit, to provide “HOPE” in the midst of the storm! So, what does an anchor do? Folks, it prevents our drifting and the anchor attaches firmly to the seabed. Remember, God is our seabed. He is firm and He is secure, and when we anchor deep in Jesus, our anchor will provide hope and security and safety as we ride out the storm. Interestingly, the shape of an anchor reminds me of the Cross. The First Century Christians used an anchor as a symbol of the Cross. Fellow Believers, WE ARE NOT ADRIFT! We are securely fastened to God through our Savior, Jesus Christ! NO, you are not going crazy! Yes, this world has lost its way, however, through the Love of God, and we can remain secure through the storm. God promised that He would sustain us and secure us and would take care of us! I am encouraged that I am being held secure and firm by the ANCHOR OF HOPE, HIS LOVE and HIS PROMISES! Daddy said, “Anchor Deep,” and that is what I am doing. How about you? Always remember, what God does with you, depends upon what you do! It Always has; It Always will!! Be sure, be productive and continue to share the Love of God with others! To God Be the Glory! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…Remember, THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
