"THE BIBLE DESCRIPTION OF A MAN/WOMAN OF GOD"

July 16    The Bible Description of a Man/Woman of God            Acts 4:13

Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.” (Acts 4:13)

What is a “Man/Woman” of God?  How do we describe this person?  To some people, they are one thing and to others they are something else.  Unfortunately, some limit this field to ordained preachers only.  Some refer to them as “Men/Women of the cloth,” who walk around saying, “HOLY, HOLY, HOLY!”  Please be aware that being a Man/Woman of God is more than just being ordained or going about saying, “HOLY, HOLY, HOLY!”  Guess what?  There are many ordained ministers that are recognized by men as “Men/Women” of God, but God does not recognize them as such.  The Bible teaches that a “Man/Woman of God IS “God’s Man/Woman!  There are all kinds of folks that we can describe…There are company folks that are totally committed to the company they work for…There are Selfish folks who are all about themselves and never anyone else unless it benefits them…There are Evil folks who are committed to doing Evil in all that they do (we are seeing this playing out before our eyes today)…Now, recognizing all of these folks, pay attention to this; There are Godly Men and Women who are committed to sharing Jesus and serving God in EVERY AREA OF THEIR LIVES!!  Folks, we need to be fully committed to being Men and Women of God that are “Sold Out” completely to God and His plan for our lives.  In Titus 2:11-12, it speaks of such men and women.  “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.”  We need to be People that God Controls.  We need to be “God-Like,” in all that we do!  Do you remember the “WWJD” bracelets of a few years ago?  “What Would Jesus Do,” should be our question, in every activity and every conversation; that we are involved with.  Friends, the more time we spend in prayer and Bible study, the more God-Like and the more we are in position to Honor God, Praise His Name and to Share the “Good News” with others!  Boy oh Boy, what this world needs, right now, today, more than oil or gas or face masks or protests or politics or riots or any worldly solution, to perceived problems; we need to recognize that we have a “SIN” problem!  We need Men and Women of God, who are committed and prepared and prayed up and fired Up to share the “GOOD NEWS” of God’s Love with this Evil and Depraved world.  May I suggest that you concentrate on becoming a “STRONG AND COMMITTED PERSON OF GOD, THAT HE CAN USE TO CHANGE THE LIFE OF SOMEONE THAT HAS NEVER SEEN THE LOVE OF GOD EXPRESSED LIKE A MAN/WOMAN OF GOD CAN DO!  I pray that that person is you!  Let us commit, right now, this moment, to pray more, study the Word more, to share the Good News more and to be the person that God requires!  Evil abounds, yet, we can confront this “Pandemic of Evil” one soul at a time!!!  What God does with you, depends upon what you do!  It Always has; It Always will!! Be sure, be productive and continue to share the Love of God with others!   Stay Strong, Stay Focused…Remember, THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
