August 11 Traveling Thru the Fog of this Sinful World Proverbs 3:5
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5)
Have you ever driven in dense fog, on roads that are unfamiliar, at night, in the mountains? Just one of those choices would be difficult enough, not to even mention, all of them. Well, I have done just that and it is no fun! Guess what? Traveling the road of life, with its unknowns and its challenges and its curves and dense (metaphorical) fog are akin to driving an automobile in conditions where vision and directions are challenged or nonexistent. Political unrest, Evil lies and Satanic deceptions, COVID19 and its confessing data, Conspiracy theories, are just a few examples of the metaphorical fog that we are going through. How are we to make it, in the Evil and Dense Fog of this world? WE ARE TO TRUST IN GOD WITH EVERYTHING! You see; it may look, as if this dense fog has blocked our ability to see clearly, however, as Christians, we are ok! Proverbs 3:5 tells us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” In the original Hebrew, “in all your ways acknowledge Him” is more literally “in all your ways ‘KNOW’ Him!” Listen, what I am about to say is critically important. This basic and fundamental statement of how we are to relate to God, calls for more than a casual nod or a halfhearted attempt to walk in obedience, once in a while, it requires a full throttled, committed personal relationship with God, through Jesus, that can claim His promises and claim that “He will straighten our paths” and “Guide our ways!” Amazingly, in verse 3 of Proverbs 3, it tells us to, “Let Love and Faithfulness never leave you!” So, once again, it comes down to what God HAS ALREADY done for us, and what WE WILL DO WITH IT! If you like living in a fog and if you like wandering around with no direction; then have at it! However, if you are tired of wandering and tired of the FOG OF EVIL that is overtaking our nation and world, and stealing your joy, then I challenge you to seek God’s face, confess your sins and ask Him to save you! I am excited to be walking on streets that are a bit straighter and clearer because I am claiming God’s promises and I know, for a fact, that He has me securely in His hands! I thank God, through Jesus, that he made a provision for our weaknesses and that HE is willing to “SEE US THROUGH!” What God does with you, depends upon what you do! It Always has; It Always will!! Be sure, be productive and continue to share the Love of God with others! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…Remember, THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
