"A CRISIS? A CRISIS OF FAITH!!"

April 23  A Crisis?  A Crisis of Faith!  Deuteronomy 31:8

Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." (Deuteronomy 31:8)

Two days ago, on the WRAL-TV website, there were four articles on the “Crisis of Climate Change!”  Yesterday, there was a segment of the news, reporting that was specifically on “Climate Change!”  Now, I am not a scientist, nor am I a “Climate Expert,” however, I am an observer of the “Crisis” mentality that seems to be sweeping the land.  Not so many years ago, we were told that the world was “Cooling, at an alarming rate,” and then, we were told that we were facing a crisis of “Global Warming,” and when all of the amazing predictions of mass destruction and the end of humanity (that were to occur in the next twelve years) and it didn’t happen, then, instead of “Global Warming,” it became “Climate Change!”  Well, it has occurred to me, over the years, that we all need to be “Good Stewards” of our land and we need to be responsible in our living on this earth, yet, the concept of our being able to destroy this planet or to be able to alter its existence, is a joke.  We didn’t create it and we cannot destroy it, however, those that are anti-God, anti-Christian and anti-standards; can create the idea that man is the god and that we can, somehow, destroy this world!  Since I was in grade school, I have heard about man’s ability to destroy the planet, and, even way back then, I was amazed that folks believed this message, yet would not and did not believe the True Message of Jesus Christ!  This planet is in a constant state of change and the idea that we can change God’s plan or God’s purpose for humanity, is absolutely ridiculous!  There has been and continues to be a “Fear” established, that we will cease to exist in, just over a decade!  There is a Crisis alright…A CRISIS OF FAITH!  You may or may not agree, when it comes to this earth and the “Climate,” however, I am fully convinced that we really are experiencing a “CRISIS”….. When we are willing to believe anything that is contrary to God’s word, yet, will do, and, do not acknowledge His Divinity or His Control over His Creation; then there is truly and most assuredly, “A CRISIS!”  I can go on and on about the number of “CRISIS” situations that really exist, like the Crisis in the minority communities, the breakdown of the family structure, the erosion of respect and the death of Common Sense, yet these issues seem to take a backseat to the existential concerns.  As a TRUE FOLLOWER OF JESUS, am I afraid of what is to come?  NO, I AM NOT… “The LORD is my light and my salvation - so why should I be afraid? The LORD is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?” (Psalm 27:1)  AGAIN, THERE IS A “CRISIS”…A “CRISIS” OF FAITH!  John the Revelator wrote, in Revelation 21, these beautiful words of Hope, Faith and Promise… “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”  Listen, what is true and factual, is that GOD IS IN CONTROL, and HE WILL TAKE CARE OF US!  Our responsibility is to live our lives committed to Him and to walk in OBEDIENCE and to GROW in HIS GRACE and KNOWLEDGE and to LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE IN THIS EVIL, ANTI-GOD ENVIRONMENT!!  Before you FEAR, remember that this is not our home, we are just passing through!  As a Forgiven Child of God, I AM GOING TO BE A RESIDENT IN THAT NEW HEAVEN AND THAT NEW EARTH AND I AM GOING TO WORSHIP AND PRAISE GOD FOR ETERNITY!  Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
