Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “I now rejoice in my sufferings for you and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church.” (Colossians 1:24)
When we examine the “sufferings of Jesus,” it is clear, that there are two distinct views. The first view is that His sufferings was for the atonement for our sins! Romans 5:10 tells us, “For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.” The second view is that the sufferings of our savior, Jesus Christ, was an example for us! His word tells us that this life will be filled with trials and tribulations and sufferings and difficulties, yet His Redeeming Grace has provided the ability to “endure” the challenges and continue to walk in His Grace and to be the witnesses for His Power and Saving Grace, to this evil and dark loving world! KEY POINT: We will suffer in this life; however, God’s Love and Power have provided the Endurance and Perseverance necessary to be successful in our journey of Life! Embrace the opportunity to participate in the “Sufferings of Christ,” and to continue to be the “Ministers of His Good News!” Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
