March 4 “Faithfulness Equals Forgiveness” Proverbs 25:21-22
**Shortages abound…Gasoline approaching 4.00 per gallon… The truth about what exists, is in short supply… Yesterday, I was asked, once again, “What in the world are we going to do?” We are going to PRAY and we are going to be FAITHFUL!**
ANNOUNCEMENT: Baptist Tabernacle Church will be 100 years old, in 2022. A grand celebration is planned for May 22, 2022, to commemorate the first service as an organized church body! Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink; For so you will heap coals of fire on his head,
And the Lord will reward you.” (Proverbs 25:21-22)
Many years ago, my daddy had 2 friends that, for whatever reason, didn’t like each other (I never knew the reasons). This “feud” went on for year and it caused stress and unnecessary strife among the family members. One day, Friend “A”, asked daddy to drive him to the local fertilizer store and to help him with his small order (He actually wanted daddy to drive and to use daddy’s truck). Coming back, daddy turned down the road that Friend B lived on, and Friend “A” had a fit! “You know that he lives on this road, and I am not going to go by his house and give him the satisfaction of seeing me on his road!” Daddy had had enough, so he said, “Do you mean to tell me that you think that “B” is sitting in his picture window, waiting for you to come down the road, so that he can get upset about you being on “his” road? Are you serious?” This sounds a bit extreme, doesn’t it? Well, that is what happens when we allow unforgiveness to fester and grow and it turns to bitterness and poison for our very existence! Friend “A” was consumed by the unforgiveness, and he allowed the bitterness to poison his life and the lives of his family! Friend “B” had offered an apology, years ago, and had moved on with his life! Sadly, ever so sadly, Friend “A” refused to forgive, and he lived out his life in anger and bitterness and his extended family carried on the tradition of unforgiveness and strife and it finally destroyed their entire family! Jesus offers a better way! He tells us to “feed him bread,” “Give him drink!” We are to “Love our Enemies,” even though they might attempt to cause us harm! Listen, the SPIRITUAL PROMISE from God is Clear! HE will reward us for our obedience, and He will provide “Abundant Life” for our dedication and obedience! JESUS IS LOVE! When He is in us and we walk in Him, then we should be examples of His Love! We demonstrate the very character of God on our lives when we respond to our enemies and those who would do us harm, with His Love and our selfless desire to Honor our Savior! I want to be more “Christ-like” every single day! I want the true nature and character of God to be displayed in my life! Help me Lord, to love unconditionally, to preach without stopping and to honor you in everything that I do! The question is: “Are You Ready To Forgive and to Enjoy the Abundant Living Through the Redemption of Jesus Christ?” Will you be Friend “A” or Friend “B?” Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
