Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance…” (Matthew 3:8)
True repentance is never easy! Excuses, deflecting blame, justifications of our own shortcomings, minimizing our own actions, and not recognizing the sin that is at the root of all our challenges, when we should be pleading for His forgiveness with every breath that we take! This evil world is watching you, and the actions and words that you do or say, are a reflection on our God and our hypocritical behaviors are evidence that true repentance has not taken hold! Listen, repentance is more than confession and keeping a set of religious rules, we must abandon our old ways and claim the power of the Holy Spirit to transform and direct our lives. No one deserves the Grace of God, yet He loved us enough to provide, through Jesus, a pathway to restoration of the relationship with Him. Religious busyness is not a substitute for genuine surrender and commitment to Almighty God. Repentance reflects who you really are!! I pray that we will abandon our prideful tendency to defend our sins and to lessen His Holiness! God is merciful and He is ready, willing, and able to save us, sustain us and allow us to produce the “good fruits” of His Grace! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
