June 23 Shortages? Philippians 4:19
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)
What has happened to the production and supply chains of America? In nineteen months, we have gone from bounty to shortages! Shortages of basic goods and shortages of hospitality workers, Lifeguards, and shortages of automobiles and shortages of gasoline and shortages of certain meats and poultry and shortages of almost everything that we have come to expect that would always be available. Where have the workers gone? Where have the chickens gone? Have we had a sudden and dramatic drop in the population? Why are we dealing with inadequate supplies of goods and services? Shortages of airline pilots, and shortages of police officers (in reality, who would want to be a police officer in this environment of anti-police and pro-violence and selective outrage and acceptance of lawlessness?) We are told that it is the COVID 19 virus pandemic and the war in Ukraine, and its effects on the world economy. Really? This virus is responsible for individuals, choosing not to be employed? How are these folks paying their bills? Is this virus responsible for the lack of available goods and services? Why are we dependent for our gasoline supply from a country that has been our antagonist, for decades? The conversation in the Walmart, recently, was the apparent lack of products on the shelves. I asked one of the managers why the empty shelves, and her reply was eye opening, “We can’t get the products from the warehouse!” I asked, “Are the products in the warehouse and you are being shorted, on purpose?” She said, “I don’t know what is going on!” Just a few days ago, the President expressed a warning that there could be food shortages in America, soon! Folks, in the short term, the lack of basic goods is concerning, however, in the “Big Picture,” I am claiming the promises of my God when He assures us that “my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Please do not be anxious and please, do not fret, God has control, and His promises WILL BE FULFILLED in our lives! Paul declared that “Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content (Philippians 4:11).” There will be “ups and downs,” in this life, and, as long, as we live, there will be challenges and difficulties, so KEEP LOOKING TO GOD FOR HIS POWER, PROVISION AND HIS ABUNDANT BLESSINGS! I choose to be content and to continue to PREACH the Good News, regardless of the present human circumstances! I choose to continue to “Grow” in His Grace and Knowledge, regardless of the challenging climate of chaos and evil! How about you? Are you secure in your relationship with Jesus? Are you like, the Apostle Paul, and “content” in all that you experience? God has provided the promise! We must claim the promise and live it, every single day! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
