September 26 The Value of Fellowship Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
**The 100th Baptist Tabernacle Church Homecoming Service will occur on Sunday, October 2, 2022. You are invited to attend! Hope to see you there… **
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up.” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10)
“I don’t need to go to church to worship God!” Have you ever heard that statement? Have you ever made that statement? While it is true that you can worship God in your solitude, God knows that isolation can create obstacles and challenges that we will find difficult to handle. Nobody wants to be alone, yet there are those that, for whatever reason, feel that isolation is their best position. Friends, in Hebrews 10:25, God’s word clearly expresses His desire for us and our wellbeing by, “not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” When we gather, to worship God, and to sing praises to His Holy Name, and we do it together, we are encouraged and energized to continue to live for Jesus and to share His Good News with others. Recently, I had the privilege to visit and minister to a gentleman that is struggling with the idea of being around other people. He is most comfortable in his own company, yet he reached out to me for counsel and for comfort. Listening to his situation, and recognizing his self-imposed isolation, I suggested that he attend a worship service at the church of his choosing, and slowly become involved in the activities of the fellowship. Wow! He was struggling with the isolation yet was not ready or willing to engage others in any type of fellowship. Why am I talking about this? It is because there are so many folks that are feeling isolated and are challenged and have a sense of hopelessness, and they are starved for human interaction and fellowship, yet they are afraid to get involved. I encourage you to be a friend! I encourage you to reach out to those who are isolated and homebound. I encourage you to witness to others by your words and your actions. Yes, Yes, Yes…You can worship by yourself, however, God intends for us to encourage each other, to lift the burdens of each other, to share in the challenges of life and to be a support of one another!! Enough said… Please be a Bright Light in this Dark and dismal World, for that one that is struggling to find their way! TO GOD BE THE GLORY! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
