October 8 “Serve the Lord” Joshua 24:15
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15)
Amazingly, over the past several weeks, I have had individuals share their unique assessment of my personal ministry, and have provided, in their opinions, constructive criticisms, in order to improve the message that I am sharing! One opinion was that I am TOO Negative, and the Message of Christ in one of Inclusion, Tolerance, and Acceptance of every person, every act, every issue, regardless of their behaviors, and that I should not be preaching things that would offend anyone! Another opinion was that I am not strong enough in pointing out the evils of this world, and that I should be “Calling Out” these despicable acts of evil. The most disturbing opinion was the one that instructed me to accept everything, never point out the reality of this sinful world, and to live in harmony with everyone, regardless of their actions, words, or their anti-God positions! Please understand these words of truth! Satan and his minions would have us believe that we are to accept everything, and that we are to be tolerant of willful and destructive sins, and that we are to remain silent! Don’t Offend Anyone! The Bible, God’s Holy Word, points out that we are in a battle for the very soul of mankind, and that we must “Armor-up” to prepare for the Battle that IS ahead! Social Gospels, “Feel-Good” Gospels, “Love and Tolerance” Gospels will lead you to destruction! Jesus said it, I believe it, and this truth will stand when the world is on fire: John 14:6; “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” We must choose the path that we will take! In Matthew 7:13-14, it states clearly, for all to understand, that we must “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Will your life and service honor Stan and this world, or will you live to honor our God? The choice is your to make! Joshua 24:15 states my position and my commitment to service to my Savior: “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” I choose to serve my Savior, and I choose to represent His Truth, His Love, His Responsible Living Instructions! TO GOD BE THE GLORY! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
Post-Script: It has been asked of me, “How can you preach about sin, and the sinner, and profess that you love everyone? First of all, I am preaching God’s Word! Secondly, I am concerned about the individual’s eternal position! Thirdly, Jesus pointed out the error of the ways of those that He encountered, and did not condone the sin, yet He loved the Sinner! Remember the encounter with the prostitute, “Neither do I condemn you, Go, and Sin no more!” Intolerance to Sin, while loving the Sinner, is a reality! Read More, Pray More, Share More!
