June 5 Spiritual Fellowship 1 John 1:7
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” (1 John 1:7)
Recently, I was called upon to mediate a dispute between believers, and as the facts unfolded, I became aware that the reality was that these individuals were not concentrating on the Spiritual life, but the Carnal life! Every opportunity that I had to interject the Love of God and the responsibility and obligation, to Love one another, fell on deaf ears! What was I to do? Then, I remembered a time from my youth, when my mother was faced with a similar challenge. Mama was attempting to help two of her friends, and it was going “nowhere,” so she enlisted the help of other friends to come along side and to encourage and to help enlighten them, so that they would see their issues and would follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, and “make-up!” Wow! I have done the same thing! Asking others to help with this challenge has resulted in the resolution of the conflict and, at the same time, taught me a great lesson about true, Spiritual fellowship! Friends, this world is becoming increasingly evil and sad, yet, as Believers, we can still fellowship together, and lift each other’s burdens, and focus on the blessings, and not the burdens! Recently, I suspended my expressions of the world activities, and my opinions about the happenings of this twisted world, yet I see the influence of Satan and his minions, and the destructive methods employed, in order to thwart the cause of Christ and the Foundational Promises of God! Believers, there has never been a time when we need to be sure of our commitments, and live our Faith, and to support and encourage each other! Listen, when we see the world through the eyes of Jesus, we will NEVER think it appropriate to teach 5-9 years old children about choosing their sexual identity, or the destruction of unborn children, nor the systemic decay of the basic family unit! Why is it that tolerance only goes one way? I am going to encourage fellow believers to be strong in their faith and to be active in prayer, the encouragement of one another, and the sharing of God’s Word with everyone that we meet! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
