May 15 Treating Others Like Jesus Luke 6:37
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.” (Luke 6:37)
Please be aware that this verse does not tell us to accept sin and to not confront sin or to recognize and distinguish between good and evil displayed by others. Keep in mind, there is a line between discernment and condemnation! God is our Judge! We are His Proclaimers of the Good News, and we are to shout the message of Jesus Christ to everyone that will listen! We are to herald the reality of his goodness and His Power to transform our sinful existence! Remember, we are promised Power, Power that comes from the Promised Comforter, the Holy Spirit! As we endeavor to navigate through this sinful world, we are called to witness, perform and to constantly display the Goodness and the Redeeming Power of our Savior, Jesus Christ! My dear mother used to tell me to be careful what I said and who I condemned, because with the judgement that I judge, I would be Judged by that same standard, and the only standard and the only judge is God’s Word and God Himself! Sadly, many are turned away from believing, because of a judgmental individual that doesn’t have their own house in order! How About This Idea… DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE TREATED! SHARE THE LOVE OF GOD AND HELP PEOPLE TO OVERCOME, INSTEAD OF HIGHLIGHTING THEIR SHORTCOMINGS! The reality is that ALL HAVE SINNED AND FALLERN SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD! Please Lord, help me to be a Bright Light of Witness for You, in everything that I do, in Word, Actions, Attitudes and may I express Your Love to all that I encounter! Stay Strong, Stay Focused… THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
