May 20 HIS Priorities… Colossians 3:16
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” (Colossians 3:16)
One of the reasons that I rise early is to plan the day and envision what will be accomplished on that given day! I imagine crossing off each task ahead and anticipating that feeling of accomplishment in a task well done! More often than not, life is not that simple! Just as I have made plans to accomplish the greatest amount in the most efficient manner, life throws a scrambling and chaotic twist into my carefully laid plans. For a moment, a brief moment, I feel a sense of frustration and irritation at the reality that my plans are disrupted by my ever changing and constantly evolving responsibilities as a pastor. I concentrate on the fact that I am serving an amazing God that has provided the power and the presence to handle every twist and change that is presented in any given day! The verse for today helps me to realize the beauty of His Service and that fact that I must embrace His Calling with Gratitude and a Song on my Lips, and the opportunity to share the Good News, and the reality of His Amazing Grace! I fully believe that Gratitude for His Amazing Grace MUST come FIRST, in order to Avoid the feelings of Frustration at OUR PLANS being Altered by His Service and Our Obedience to our Calling! Thankfulness is key to dedicated Service, and I am so thankful for His Grace and my Privilege to share His Gift of Grace with others! Think about Psalm 100:4 when it instructs us to “Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with Praise!” The reality is certain! Beginning each new day with the Attitude of Gratitude and the reality of His Grace will help us to be Flexible in our planning and faithful in His Divine Will for Our Lives. Simply Put: “We Must be as Flexible as we are Faithful!” Be Grateful, Be Active, Be Faithful and exercise an ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE in All that You Do! Put at the top of your planning list: Ready to Serve, Ready to Adjust and Ready to Make a Difference for My Savior! Stay Strong, Stay Focused … THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
