June 14 Regardless of the Circumstances John 14:27
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” (John 14:27)
There are so many terrible things occupying the headlines these days, it can be hard to wrap your head around them. Every day we hear of murders, robberies, violations, home invasions, general unrest, unsafe streets and neighborhoods. When will the madness end? Until people turn from their wicked ways and acknowledge the sovereignty of Almighty God, it will not end! When we study the Holy scriptures, we see that the people who lived in Bible times were no strangers to chaos, murders and the atrocities of humanity. Praise God, the beautiful reality is that many were also well acquainted with the character of God—a loving, protecting Father quick to console His people. He comforted them then and comforts us now! Last week, I was reviewing our family finances, to determine where we can trim, tighten and further economize to meet the ever-growing expense of “Living!” Wow! Just this morning, while listening to the news, a political ad came on, and, according to the ad, we are experiencing the best economy in the history of the United States! It went to declare that “this was down and that was down, and times are great!” Ignoring reality and promoting the “Lie” has become the standard, instead of the exception! I have heard, most of my life, that if you state a “Lie” as the truth, and repeat the “Lie” enough, then people will begin to believe the “Lie” to be the truth! When I purchase a loaf of bread, the cheapest that I can stand, and it is still approaching $3.00 a loaf, and I fill up my gas tank at $3.40, and the property taxes have gone up, and the cost of living has set record increases, I guess that in this “Emperor’s New Clothes” mentality, “all is Great!” Pay Attention! This type of stuff will continue until God calls us home (either in the Rapture or in death) and there will always be the big “Lie” about what is good and what is bad, and the lines will continue to blur! So, what do we do? WE TRUST GOD TO HONOR HIS PROMISES AND WE LIVE OUR LIVES AS GOOD STEWARDS OF HIS BLESSINGS! “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” (John 14:27) What a beautiful promise! I am digging deeper into His Holy Word, and I am claiming His Power and Provision for me and my family, and I am depending on HIM! This Fact motivates me to Praise, and Worship: “It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” (Deuteronomy 31:8) … Regardless of the Evil and Insanity and the Twisted Views and Opinions of others, as for me and my family, WE CHOOSE TO SERVE THE LORD! Victory is ours, He Promised, I Believe, I am Claiming, and I am Living His Victory! “Let Not Your Hearts Be Troubled!” Regardless of the circumstances, VICTORY IS MINE! TO GOD BE THE GLORY! Stay Strong, Stay Focused… THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
