September 13 “My Hope, My Anchor” Hebrews 6:19
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil,”
Regardless of your status or position in this life, times are difficult to navigate! Violence, Moral Decay, Twisted Thoughts of Right and Wrong, and a host of evil issues that we are not even aware of, combine to create an atmosphere of difficulty and despair! As Christians, we have THE ANSWER to all of Life’s Problems and Challenges! Our Heavenly Father has provided the opportunity and the power to maintain and to overcome the challenges of Life, through His expression of Love and Grace, by offering JESUS CHRIST, as our ultimate sacrifice for our sins! I am fully aware of the difficulties of living in this evil and sinful world, and I am deeply into God’s word, as my anchor, when times seem so overwhelming, and the darkness of this life closes in around me! Many years ago, I heard George Beverly Shea sing a beautiful song, written by Ruth Caye Jones, and it has become my standard and my reminder of HIS power, and strength! When time get hard (and they do), and the challenges seem to overwhelm, I begin to sing this beautiful song, and I am reminded of God’s Grace and Redemption! It is called, “In Times Like These…”
In times like these you need a Savior
In times like these you need an anchor
Be very sure, be very sure
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!
This Rock is Jesus, yes, He's the One
This Rock is Jesus, the only One
Be very sure, be very sure
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!
In times like these you need the Bible
In times like these, O be not idle
Be very sure, be very sure
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!
This Rock is Jesus, yes, He's the One
This Rock is Jesus, the only One
Be very sure, be very sure
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!
In times like these I have a Savior
In times like these I have an anchor
I'm very sure, I'm very sure
My anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!
This Rock is Jesus, yes, He's the One
This Rock is Jesus, the only One
Be very sure, be very sure
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!
Please Focus on the Power, Presence, Provision, and the Grace of God, through Jesus Christ, and face each day with the assurance that because of His Love, His Grace, His Power, and His Might, we are survivors and overcomers! Nothing that comes against us will survive because of His Anchor in Times Like These!!! Stay Strong, Stay Focused… THE BEST IS YET TO BE!!
Jesus said unto him, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” Matthew 22:36-40
