August 3 “He’s Back…” Psalm 34:8
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” (Psalm 34:8)
Let me begin by saying “THANK YOU” to our Amazing Church Family, To Mr. Jimmy Faison, the entire Deacon Board, Mr. Glenn Horton, and to everyone that has reached out with love and encouragement (please know that you all are loved and appreciated!). Every visit, every call, every card (which were many), every text, every meal, every random act of love and kindness is so appreciated! Since March 26, 2025, I have been on a journey that has included extreme highs and depressing lows. Who would have thought that a routine procedure would result in such misery and illness? During the early days of this journey, I was unable to even pray, but when I couldn’t pray, I repeated the “Lord’s Prayer,” over and over! Each new day brought the opportunity to visualize His goodness and to embrace His abundant blessings. As I looked into the faces of the nurses and the doctors, and I saw their care and compassion, I was encouraged to keep seeking and praying! Praise God, I have experienced some amazing people along this journey to recovery! During this time, I have witnessed the goodness and the beauty of our God, through the lives of every caregiver (especially my dear partner, Annette) and every person that I have encountered. What an amazing gift! Each person has provided the inspiration and hope that was required to stay focused and to continue to claim God’s provision and blessings! What a genuine privilege and blessing and a worship experience to be able to take refuge in God’s amazing grace and to experience His power. With gratitude, I Thank God for the privilege to have been through this time and I am so grateful for the experience. It became clear that clinging to my own abilities was woefully inadequate, but surrendering to His Will and Provision was the only solution to the challenge. Amazingly, as the journey progressed, I chose to place my trust in Him, in a deeper way, and surrender all that I am to His Amazing Power and Grace and took comfort in the Safe Place and Haven that He promises and provides! GOD IS SO GOOD!! Remember, we are instructed, in Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” It took a “near death” experience for me to “Be Still” and to recognize the awesome power of His Grace! Stay Strong, Stay focused… THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
PS: No Pastor has ever had the privilege to experience the Love and Compassion and Encouragement that Baptist Tabernacle has shown to me and my family! Blessed, More Blessed, and Blessed some more… Whether God provides one more day or many more years, I will continue to express my gratitude and love to each one of you that are a part of our BTC family! Annette and I would not have made it without our God, and the Love and Encouragement of our extended BTC family!
