August 7 “New Thoughts, Attitudes and Direction” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-22
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not despise prophecies. 21 Test all things; hold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-22)
During my extended medical leave, I settled into reading these beautiful passages each morning. Having experienced some extremely low times and some extended recovery time, it has become clear that I must alter my priorities and that I must depend on the Blessed Holy Spirit for guidance and for direction. Upon prayerful reflection, I have been made aware that, even though my intentions were righteous, I may have been chasing the wrong things and attempting to pursue the wrong things! Excitedly, I am claiming the power of the Holy Spirit for the balance of my life and ministry, and I am experiencing the joy of His Salvation! Praying each day that God will change my attitude, change my approach, change my mind, change my reactions, and if I am chasing the wrong and unedifying things, that he will convict me, lead me, and redirect me into the proper way and allow my life to Praise Him and to Glorify Him! Stay Strong, Stay Focused… THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
