January 17 Perilous Times & Perilous People 2 Timothy 3:1-7
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina…“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (2 Timothy 3:1-7)
From my simple perspective, I see a world gone mad! Evil is rampant and is crawling in the streets of our major cities and is now moving into the suburbs. Anger, Hatred, Unrest, Anti-Authority, Anti-American, Anti-Jewish, Anti-Police, Anti-Rule of Law seems to be the attitude of choice! I am seeing a clearly defined boundary between “Good & Evil,” between what is “Right,” and what id “Wrong!” Who told individuals that it is okay to deface and destroy others’ personal property, just because that person disagrees with them? Who decided that it is proper behavior to harass and obstruct duly authorized Federal law Enforcement Agents in the fulfillment of their assigned duties? This militant attitude has permeated throughout our nation and has crept into the houses of worship across our land! Just yesterday, I heard a pastor, from the Midwest, speaking about “resistance” against “ICE” and any law enforcement agency that would be engaged in doing their job! Really? What I see is the exercise of the parable of Jesus about the “Wheat & the Tares,” coexisting, with the “Tares” having a form of godliness yet are corrupt and divisive and causing harm to anyone that will listen! Read the scripture: Matthew 13:24-30 – “Another parable put He forth unto them, saying, the kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.” There is coming a day when the “Tares” will be separated from the “Wheat,” and the “Tares” will be cast into the “Fire!” Judgement is coming! Regardless of one’s beliefs or denial of this fact, JESUS IS COMING AGAIN, and when HE COMES, it will be TOO LATE for the “TARES!” PLEASE check yourself to see if you are “REAL” and “GENUINE!” Are you following Jesus and serving Him in the Beauty of His Holiness? I am feeling a sense of urgency for the souls of those that have been “blinded” by Satan, to the truth of His Word & Promises! Christians, Please Pray for the Brethren, Pray for the Lost, Pray for the “Tares,” among the “Wheat!” Pray for our Nation, Our Leaders (Red & Blue), and One Another! Stay Strong, Stay Focused … THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
