March 12 Do I Know You…? Luke 10:27
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “So, he answered and said, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’” (Luke 10:27)
Our Number One Priority, as a Born-Again, Blood Bought, Follower of Jesus Christ, is to Love our God with all that we possess! Every thought, every action, every word must reflect His Grace and Power. So many times, we confuse our will, our opinions, our thoughts, as being what God ordains, yet He is not the First, Last and Only Motivating Factor in our Actions, Words, and Thoughts! Allowing the Holy Spirit to lead, guide and direct our lives requires submission, commitment, and dedication, not to our attitudes and opinions, but to His Holy Will! Romans 12:2 explains our expected attitude and prospective: “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Doing God’s Will is expected and it is a prerequisite for our Victory in Jesus! As I navigate through this world and witness the interactions of others, I am concerned about those “scary” words of Jesus, when He is going to say to so many that have been “busy,” yet never actually being what He expects… Matthew 7:21-23: “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in Heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!” I DO NOT WANT TO BE NUMBERED IN THAT GROUP! HOW ABOUT YOU! Please get right with our Lord! Please recognize that you can be busy IN the work of the Church and still not KNOW JESUS! Recently, a young lady inquired as to why I have been, in her words, “Pounding” the idea of God-Centered, Faithful Service! My response, in my opinion, was the only response; “Because it is the Only Option that will have us enjoying the benefits of Heaven!” The alternative is to hear, “Depart from Me, I never knew you!” Which one do you choose? REPENT! TO GOD BE THE GLORY! Stay Strong, Stay Focused… THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
