April 16 Peace, Holiness, Obedience Hebrews 12:14 NIV
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.” (Hebrews 12:14 NIV)
As I navigate through this life, growing and maturing in His Holy Word, I recognize the necessity for complete surrender and a “Repenting” (Turning Away from the Old and embracing the New) of my attitude and actions, so that I am, in agreement with HIS HOLY WILL! When Jesus ascended to Heaven, He left explicit instructions for His Followers! We are to go out into this world and make disciples of all nations (Those that agree and those that do not agree. Those that are like us and those that are not like us). How are we to be obedient to the call when dissension and chaos, disagreements, social and political separations take worldly priority? Friends, we can only be obedient and express God’s Love to this twisted world if we are obedient agents of Peace and His Love! Unity of the Fellowship is possible when we allow the Holy Spirit to guide us and to prioritize our thoughts and actions! We must have a goal of Holiness, which is achieved when we are in a growing and obedient relationship with Jesus Christ! When we surrender, commit to obedience, then Christ will be seen in us and through us and we will prioritize His Will over our own prejudices and opinions! He instructs us to be Holy as He is Holy! May God Fill You His Holiness and cause you to see the world and others as opportunities for witness and His Grace, versus an occasion for attitude, conflict and dissension! I pray that each one of us will see the folly of our own opinions and embrace His Holiness! The question remains: Are we agents of His Grace and Forgiveness or are we agents of our own attitudes and thoughts? One will bring Harmony and Unity of the Fellowship, and one will bring strife and conflict and dishonor to God! Which one are you? Stay Strong, Stay Focused … THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
