Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.” (Galatians 6:7)
Have you ever heard the adage, “If you make your bed hard. You must lie on it?” the one true lesson that my daddy, pounded into my head, was personal responsibility! Just as we all have done, I tried to blame someone else for a mess that I created, many years ago, and my dear daddy was having no part of my explanation! “Son, you made a bad decision, and you will have to bear about in your body the consequences for your actions, and you cannot blame others for your own mistakes!” In recent days, a trial was held to determine the guilt or innocence of a young man that made some bad decisions and going to pay the consequences for his actions. When you place yourself in the situation, enhance the issues by your attitude, and adopt an arrogant disposition, and then you are in a situation that you cannot turn back, and it escalates into a tragic result, you CANNOT BLAME OTHERS FOR YOUR ACTIONS AND THE RESULTS OF YOUR DECISIONS! We have all made bad decisions and we have faced the consequences of your actions! Personal responsibility is required for us to be what God has ordained for us to be! “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23)… It appears that we have entered a time when personal responsibility have been replaced by cultural bias, casting blame to others for our actions and absolutely no consequences for our own actions! Recently, I was asked about a situation involving a young man and his arrogance towards a neighbor. It happened that the young man decided that the neighbor’s front yard was his own private “mini bike” riding trail. When the neighbor asked him to stop riding across his newly seeded front yard, the young man told him that he would ride where he pleased and that there was nothing that the neighbor could do about it. Keep in mind, this young man is 14 years old, and he is acting out what he has been taught. When I was 14, and I had shown such disrespect and arrogance towards anyone, and Linwood Brock was made aware, well, this young man would be navigating through life standing up… Well, the neighbor contacted the father of the young man, and explained the situation, and sure enough, the father was just as entitled and arrogant as the young man. How is it that people think that their rights extend into your personal space? Amazingly and gratefully, the neighbor recognized the source of this young man’s attitude, and he decided to create a barrier that would preclude the young man from crossing his yard. Sin, in every form, causes individuals to act and to be foolish! Common Sense has been sacrificed on the altar of political correctness and cultural insanity! As Beleiverss, we are called to be a Bright Light into this Dark and Arrogant World! The Bottom Line: Take Responsibility for your own actions and do not blame others for your ignorance, arrogance or stupidity! REPENT, CONFESS, BELIEVE, AND ACCEPT HIS AMAZING GRACE! Stay Strong, Stay focused … THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
