June 7 CONFIDENCE in HIM 1 John 5:14
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:” (1 John 5:14)
Fifty-Two Years ago, today, I graduated from Eastern Wayne High School. When I think back to that day, I am moved to remember the words of a special lady, in my High School experience. Mrs. Janie Woodard shared some amazing words of wisdom that I have attempted to follow. She told me that I was about to enter adulthood, and the pages of my life were bland and that I had a beautiful opportunity to write amazing things on these pages. Her first instruction was to seek the Will of God for my life, and to commit myself to His Service! She continued to share that I needed to PRAY, every day, about EVERYTHING! The last thing that she emphasized, was for me to “Walk according to HIS WILL!” That day, I wondered if she and my parents had conspired together to share the same information! Over the years, I have enjoyed these amazing words, and I have come to realize that God’s Will for my life, will always be fixed and firm, and I must continually seek His Face and to Follow His leading, in order to understand His Will for my life! I am 69 years old, and looking forward to 70 years, and I am still “Seeking His Will, Praying Each Day, and Anticipating His revelations for my Life, and excited that I am still in His service! My Dear Daddy followed up with these “Pearls of Wisdom” for living, when he instructed me that there are 3 facts of Living for Jesus! The foundation is a saving relationship with Jesus! Beyond this, the FIRST Fact is to realize that God wants to reveal His Will for Your Life! SECOND Fact is that His Will is revealed to us when we STUDY HIS WORD! The THIRD Fact is that the HOLY SPIRIT will GUIDE YOU into UNDERSTANDING of GOD’S WILL FOR YOUR LIFE! When you are in doubt, ask God, with CONFIDENCE, BOLDNESS AND GRATITUDE! Seeking His Will, in everything, allows you to come freely and boldly into His Presence and be assured that He will hear you and He will answer you, period!! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
