Get SAVED, NOW !!!!
March 7 “Get Saved NOW!” 2 Corinthians 6:2
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “For He says: ‘In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you.’ Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” (2 Corinthians 6:2)
Over the past few months, I have participated, in their services and witnessed the deaths of so many people! Two of these folks had lived difficult and challenging lives, and I was asked if one of the young men had been saved! I was so glad to report that he was saved and that he was doing so much better in his living! Their ages ranged from 91 years old, to 26 years old, and death came to each of them. Some were expected, and others were sudden, and without warning! The message today is simple and clear! You do not know when death will knock on your door, so you need to be ready! You need to make a choice where you will spend eternity! FACT: Every one of us will live for eternity! The question is, WHERE WILL WE SPEND ETERNITY! Claiming the Saving and Forgiving Grace of Jesus Christ ensures your “Forever” in Heaven! Rejecting Him and Refusing to recognize His Selfless Act of Grace and Forgiveness on the Cross, you have made the decision to spend eternity in torment and pain and, ultimately, the fires of a burning Hot HELL! John 3:16 tells us that, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” 2 Peter 3:9 speaks of the intentions of our God! “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” NOW IS THE TIME TO REPENT and COME TO JESUS! It is very simple: The ABC’s of SALVATION!
A – Admit: Admit what you have done wrong and ask forgiveness. Romans 3:23 “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 6:23 “The wages of sin is death.”
I John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
B – Believe: Believe that Jesus died on the cross and rose again as a payment for your sins. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 “Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.”
Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
C - Confess and Choose: Confess and choose to allow God to the be in charge of your life! Matthew 16:24 “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” Romans 10:9 “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:13 “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Source - 2021 ABCJesusLovesMe) It is that simple! God Loves You! Jesus Came to ensure your salvation! It is UP TO YOU! Where will you spend eternity? How will you live your life? WHAT IS IT? SALVATION! WHEN DO WE WANT IT? NOW! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
BIRTHDAYS & ANNIVERSARIES FOR MARCH 6, 2023
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO:
RENEE’ DRIVER
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO:
MIKE & SUSAN ADAMS
RESIST EVIL FOLK
March 6 Resist Evil Folk Proverbs 1:10
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “My son, if sinful men entice you, do not give in to them.” (Proverbs 1:10)
Here we go again, with one of my “Life’s Experiences Stories” that teach a valuable lesson, or at least, was valuable to me, at the time! Imagine, if you will, a typical hot Eastern North Carolina evening, with 4 young boys anticipating darkness to fall so that they could “camp-out” all night long. We had done this before, yet this night was different. On this night, we had the addition of an older boy, and he immediately became the leader of this little pack. We were “goofing” around and talking about “girls,” and, all of a sudden, the new boy suggested that this was boring and that we should do something exciting. I will call him Bubba, since he is still living, and he is well known in Eastern Wayne County. Bubba decides that we should go to Mr. A. O. Price’s Store and break into his “Drink” building and take some drinks. The three original boys, which includes me, were reluctant to sign on to this program, however, the pressure to conform and the prestige of Bubba soon wore us down. So, off we go! “How am I going to avoid this and save face?” That “Still Small Voice” was screaming at me… “DON’T DO IT!!!” Immediately, I pretended that my stomach was killing me and that I had to go to the bathroom and that I was going to my house to handle the situation and that I would catch up to them, as quickly as I could resolve the situation. So, they continued, to accomplish their mission, and I went to my house and undressed and crawled into my bed. Daddy came into my room and inquired about why I came home, and I told him that I didn’t feel well. That was the truth…I didn’t feel well about stealing Mr. Price’s drinks! To finish the story…the fellas did go to the store, and they did break into the drink house, and they did get caught! It just so happened that a Wayne County Deputy Sheriff was parked behind the store, yet, out of sight of the drink house. He heard the noise and came to investigate and found my friends and Bubba, inside of the building, at night, with the store closed and drinks in hand. What happened next was, truly ugly! My friend’s parents were called to go to Goldsboro to pick up their sons, including the big boy, Bubba! The next day, the story was all over the small community of Spring Bank. Praise God that my name was not a part of the rapidly spreading news! I didn’t understand what had happened to me that night and why I couldn’t bring myself to follow the fellas into this mess. As I matured, both physically; and more specifically, Spiritually, I understood that the Holy Spirit was guiding and strongly directing me to “Cut and Run” to my safe place! God promised the HOLY SPIRIT and we need to be sensitive and tuned into His teaching, leading, and instructions. This event was over 50 years ago, and it is as clear to me, as if it was 50 minutes ago. Resist the Devil and he will flee from you… Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE! (Re-printed with a purpose)
JESUS CHRIST: Our HOPE!!!!
March 5 Jesus Christ: Our HOPE Psalm 146:5
**Today, at BTC, we are baptizing 4 (Four) More Souls, that have claimed the Saving Grace of Jesus Christ, establishing a Personal Relationship with Him! TO GOD BE THE GLORY! **
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:” (Psalm 146:5)
Every day, in everything, we have the opportunity and responsibility, to show this world the Love and the Hope of Almighty God, through His Son, Jesus! This is difficult for some! I was asked, just recently if God loves me, why is life so difficult? Well, all of us face tough times and all of us have challenges! We are told that we would have tribulations and trials and challenges, yet His Great Love and His (Jesus) selfless act at Calvary, and His Redeeming Grace has made it possible for us to Overcome the issues of Life! The Good News is that we WILL have dark days and challenges, and we will experience difficulties, and we will encounter people that are negative and destructive, yet HE PROMISED VICTORY for His Children! I choose to take the challenges of this life, and to use them to show others that there is Hope! Hope for tomorrow! Hope for the struggles of Life! Hope for endurance! It is through Jesus Christ, and His Love for us, that offers the opportunity for us to be a witness for Him, of His Hope and Victory for Living! Simply put… God is the Only One who can provide us with the HOPE and ultimately lead us to Victory! TO GOD BE THE GLORY! Stay Strong, Stay FOCUSED!!! THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
ATTITUDE OF JOY
March 4 “Attitude of Joy” Luke 15:7
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.” (Luke 15:7)
Are you rejoicing? What is it that motivates your rejoicing? As you live your life, what is are main priorities of your daily responsibilities? Are you preoccupied with earthly and temporal things or are you focused on heavenly things? We must take a serious and honest look at our lives, and we must really determine who we are, to answer this question! Luke is telling us what causes a smile in heaven! God is not impressed with our human righteousness and our human attempt to “act” righteous! Our God finds great pleasure when a sinner comes to Him through repentance and receives the Grace of God, through Jesus Christ! Sadly, not everyone will come to Christ! We are all sinners, and we need to call out to God for His Mercy and Grace, as we repent of our sins and ask Him to forgive and to cleanse us and to make us acceptable, through the shed blood of Jesus. There is absolutely nothing, in our human existence, that we can do to qualify for this Amazing Grace! It is by His Great Love for us and His desire that we should re-establish a relationship with Him, through Jesus’ Redeeming Blood and our recognition of our sinfulness and for our repentance and acceptance of His atoning Grace that we are able to claim victory for our living! Friends, outside of knowing Jesus Christ and His redeeming Love for us, our job, our joy, our responsibility, is to share this Great News with others! Every time that I share Jesus with another soul, and they, through faith, confess, believe, and accept, as their own, the Amazing Grace of God, I REJOICE! What makes you celebrate? We have the absolute privilege to serve as Ambassadors for God, in this world, every day of our lives! May you continue to become heavenly minded and continue to live so that others WILL SEE JESUS IN YOU!!! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO:
PAULA (BUNN) ZURAWSKI

JAMMIE CREECH (In Heaven)
"EXERCISING GREAT LOVE..."
March 3 “Exercising Great Love” 2 Peter 3:9
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)
My earliest memories involve the love of my mother and the mercy that she demonstrated towards this “active and mischievous” little boy! I was inquisitive and I wanted to see how things worked, and that would include taking things apart and putting them back together. One example was the Electrolux vacuum cleaner. It came apart easily, and it went back together just as simply, with 2 parts left over! Oops! Here comes the exercise of her great love! I know that I put Mama through some trying times, yet she was so compassionate, and she loved me through the “growth.” Now, her patience had limits! From time to time, she would exercise her great love at the end of a belt or a “switch (I would have to fetch)!” Mama was my first example of the Love of God and the depth of His love for a wayward people. My God loves each one of us and He does not want any to perish, and this great love is extended to all! Just as Mama would show mercy, our God shows mercy to us! He does not overlook sin, or ignore His Holiness, but God is patient and loving and He is ready to forgive and to reconnect with us. Folks, I would ask why it was that I would receive a “killing” for my actions, yet my friend would get a pass from his mother! “Because I love you more,” was my mother’s answer! Peter said that it might appear that our Lord was “slack” in punishing the sinful, however, God is patient and loving and He wants us to repent and to claim His Grace and to re-establish a “Right” relationship with Him. God is patiently waiting for you today! Every day, in everything, God is actively demonstrating His Great Love for us! Sadly, not everyone will be SAVED! God’s Love demands Holiness, and His Holiness is always tempered by HIS LOVE! Just remember this: God Loves You and He is Not Slack with this Love! He has Promised redemption, and Eternal Life, with Him, and the Price of Admission to Heaven has been paid on the Cross of Calvary! God is ready to forgive your sins, and He is willing to show His Mercy towards you, and to offer His Grace (His unmerited favor) for the remission of your sins! My dear Mama corrected me because she loved me, and my God offers His Love and He corrects me and guides me and protects me, and He is not SLACK in Doing IT! I have rambled on to say this and it is the most important lesson of all: “… not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
"FAITH WALKING ..."
March 2 “Faith Walking…” 2 Corinthians 5:7
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “For we walk by Faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7)
FAITH is an amazing thing! Hebrews 11:1 tells us, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” This thing called Faith, is the very foundation of our Christian existence and our relationship with the “Author and Finisher” of our Faith! If we are, to consistently and habitually, tap into the rich and powerful blessing of God, we must have a growing and dynamic Faith! Everything that we are, or hope to be, through the Love of God, is tied to our Faith! Unfortunately, we are so “sight” oriented and “sight” dependent! We expect to be able to touch or see it, and we expect to be able to, through our human intellect, to prove it! Often this is the basis of our faith, and it is inadequate and will ultimately fail! Reverend Norris Cook, many years ago, preached a sermon on people of Faith, and he said that there are two types of people that live in the world of Faith. He said that there are those that “Walk in Faith,” that have surrendered their lives to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, trusting in His Provision and Power through, any, and all circumstances. Then, he said, there are those that “Wander from Faith!” Those who decide to go it on their own and to take matters into their own hands! Dear Friends, walking by FAITH requires a keen focus and a confident and dedicated study and application of the Word of God, into our lives! Counting on the Faithfulness of God and to walk in His Will and to live obediently and to demonstrate your Faith to others! Walking by faith requires, what Pastor Cook called, Enduring Patience! Regardless of the circumstances, regardless of what we see, regardless of the “popular” thought, we are to look to God, and we are to “Walk in Faith,” believing that He Will See Us Through! This “Faith Walk” has been a joyful learning experience for me! As I continue to grow closer to Him, and depend more and more on His Guidance and Grace, I am provided the opportunity to experience His Joy, His Truth, His Provision, His Grace, and His Promises! Because of His Great Love, I have the privilege to recognize and rejoice in His trustworthiness and His Bounty and Blessings! Come what may, I am walking in “FAITH!” Regardless of the circumstances, I am growing in HIS GRACE! TO GOD BE THE GLORY! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
BIRTHDAYS FOR MARCH 1, 2023
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO:
JUNIOR FERRELL
HE Answers Prayer
March 1 HE Answers Prayer! Philippians 4:19
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)
Recently, a dear brother in Christ, troubled with life, asked me a profound question. He asked, “Does God really answer prayer?” Wow! I was dumbfounded, for just a moment, then, almost immediately, I began to pray that the Holy Spirit would provide an answer that would be great enough to “jump start” my brother’s Faith and Fidelity! I responded, “One lesson that our Jesus teaches, is that we can have confidence in every prayer, that is prayed, in Faith and Truth!” I went on to say that, “There will be skeptics that will scoff at the reality, there will be pseudo-intellectuals that will deny the reality, and there will be non-believers that will ridicule you, yet, as believers in the gift of God through Jesus Christ, in His own words, we have the answer: ‘If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. (John 15:7)’” Listen, this DOES NOT mean that God gives us a “Blank Check” or a “Wishing Well” of unrestricted answers to prayer! His words are not intended to mean that we will receive everything that we pray for, as long as we continue to ask for the same thing, over and over! Our God is not a Genie with 3 wishes!! Does God promise to give us anything that we want? The answer is a resounding NO! Think about it… God loves us too much to provide ANYTHING that we ASK FOR! In our humanity, we often ask for thinks that are not edifying to the Body of Christ and are not conducive to our spiritual growth and is not a true witness for Christ! Our job, our responsibility, our calling, our blessing, is to grow in Christ, walk in His Will, Exercise His Grace, daily, and to continue to abide in Him! The more that we do this, the more that our prayers WILL BE FULFILLED! As we grow closer to Him, our Prayers will reflect His Will, His Promises and His Power! The scriptures promise that “For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. (Psalm 84:11)
TRUST HIS PROMISE! BELIEVE IN HIS PROVISION! WALK IN HIS GRACE! LIVE FOR HIM, EVERY SINGLE DAY! He Promised, I believe, and I know that He will answer my prayers! Stay Strong, Stay Focused… THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO:
ALLYSON CREECH
SHIRLEY LANE (60th)
"BE AN ENCOURAGER"
February 28 “Be an Encourager” Colossians 3:16
**HAPPY 60th BIRTHDAY TO SHIRLEY LANE! THANK YOU FOR BEING THE SISTER THAT I DIDN’T HAVE!! LOVE YOU SIS, PASTOR GLEN**
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” (Colossians 3:16)
It has become clear to me in my 66 plus years of living, that there are two distinct types of people in this world! One type love’s others and is always seeking to help and support and encourage others, and the other type is a complainer and is constantly draining us and trying our patience and seems to be seeking the worst that can exist! Have you ever known some one that triggers your “Flight” response whenever they come around? You know that criticism and complaining is about to happen! Conversely, how about that individual that crosses your path, and you are immediately, lifted-up, and you feel encouraged and blessed to have them in your life! There was a man with such credentials, in the Bible. A man that was an Encourager and Supporter of others. His name was Joseph, but the Disciples, changed his name, to describe this amazing man more accurately. They called him, Barnabas, which means “Son of Encouragement!” What a way to be known! Dear Friends, under the redeeming blood of Jesus, may we be “Encouragers” for our fellow travelers, on this journey of life, and may we be known as the “Encourager!” When we are completely absorbed in God’s Grace and Love, then we can truly and effectively be that “Encourager” that Jesus has ordained! Get your house in order and stop complaining! How do we do that? Listen and Obey… “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.” (1 Thessalonians 5:8)
My dear friend and long-time Prayer Partner, Reverend Ricky Anderson, has told me of his experiences of standing on the hillside and looking over into the most famous battlefield that exists, the Valley of Jezreel. It is more commonly known as the Valley of Armageddon! As a student of history, I know that the first recorded battle took place there, and the exciting news is that the Last Battle fought on this earth will happen right there! This is a famous battlefield, yet the most common and most used battlefield is in our hearts and minds! The Apostle Paul gives clear instructions to cover ourselves with the breastplate of Faith and Love, and to protect our minds with the helmet of Salvation! Listen, the instructions from Paul are applicable to our lives today! Faith ushers into our lives, the righteousness of Christ, and this Love allows us to share it with others! This Hope of Salvation, that Paul speaks about, protects our minds and is a true source of encouragement! Listen Closely!!! Every single day, Satan is actively engaged in the battle for your thoughts and your very heart! He is seeking control, so that he can cause others to doubt and to stumble along this life! THE ONLY WAY TO ENSURE VICTORY AND TO SERVE GOD, IS TO REMAIN ALERT AND TO BE READY FOR THE BATTLE! There is no doubt, WE ARE IN A BATTLE FOR THE VERY SOUL OF MAN! Get Ready, Be Ready and “Armor Up!” “NOT TODAY SATAN, NOT TODAY!” Stay Strong, Stay Focused, Stay Ready…The Battle is at hand! Victory is ours, through the Blood of Jesus! REMEMBER: THE BEST IS ABSOLUTELY AND WITHOUT A DOUBT, YET TO BE!
HIS Great LOVE
February 26 HIS Great Love… John 15:13
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” (John 15:13)
In 1 John 4:8, John wrote to the early church that “God is Love!” Christianity is the only earthly belief system that, has at its foundation, the reality of Loving One Another! Love is the key. Love is the central part of our God’s very nature and existence. It is because of God’s amazing Love that He sought a vital relationship with sinful men and women, even at the cost of His Only Begotten Son. It was this GREAT LOVE that brought Jesus to the Cross, and it was this amazing Love that Jesus demonstrated, on that old Cross, is the reality of God’s GREAT LOVE for us! So, when Jesus says that; “Greater love has no one than this; than to lay down one’s life for his friends,” it is a statement of our requirement to Love God and our Neighbor! Our Jesus, willingly and with divine purpose, went to the Cross and suffered and died for our sins and this is the Greatest Act of Love that the world has ever known!! Jesus came because God Loves us and Jesus, in His Love for Mankind, was willing to be the one, true, and final blood sacrifice for our sins! That, my friends, is LOVE. I am excited to be a part of that “Shed Blood Experience” and to call Jesus, friend. As my friend, I am in communication with Him, and to have Him share in my burdens, and grateful that He intercedes, with the Father, on my behalf. The reality is clear, we are to Love God, Embrace and claim His Love through Jesus and to GO and SHARE this LOVING RELATIONSHIP and this LOVING FRIENDSHIP with everyone that we meet!! Thank you God for Loving me enough to “Lay Down Your Son’s Life For ME!” IT IS ALL ABOUT HIS LOVE FOR US!! DO YOU REALLY LOVE HIM? Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
OUR WORDS, OUR THOUGHTS, OUR ACTIONS
February 25 Our Words, Our Thoughts, Our Actions Psalm 19:14
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.” (Psalm 19:14)
Have you ever spoke in haste and were sorry for the words that you used? Have you ever thought about something, and dwelled upon it, until you made it become reality? Is it necessary for the Believer to control our speech and to control our thoughts? The Psalmist is asking for Divine intervention in controlling his words and his thoughts! It is, absolutely, necessary for the Believer to control and to govern the words from our mouths and we must control and govern our thoughts! This is a tough pair! What we think, will ultimately, come out of our mouths! God is our Father, Jesus is our Savior and Lord, and the Holy Spirit is our Strength and Our Guide! We MUST be careful what we think and what we say! Our witness for Jesus and the proclamation of His Word requires that we control our thoughts and words! In Philippians 4:8, Paul expressed a need to be in control of our thoughts and our words! He said, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” What are you thinking about right this minute? What words are ready to leave your mouth? Because of your thoughts, what actions are you about to engage in? Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
OBSERVATION OF REALITY: No generation can say they are completely free from the threat of war. Jesus spoke of the inevitability of conflict when he prophesied of the signs of his coming. He said in the Gospel of Matthew: “And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that ye be not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.” (Matthew 24:6-8)… THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS THAT JESUS IS COMING AGAIN AND IT IS NOT AS FAR OFF AS IT USED TO BE! Now is the time to get thing right between you and our Savior, Jesus Christ!! (Pastor Glen Brock)
