"HE'S STILL WORKING ON ME!"

October 19    He’s Still Working on Me!   Colossians 1:9-10

 Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina…“For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,”  (Colossians 1:9-10)

On a rainy, cool October evening, at 7:20pm, to be exact, a baby boy was born to Linwood and Barbara Brock.  Today, 64 years later, this little boy is still growing, still learning, still experiencing all that God has prepared for him.  The one true and clear fact is that, He’s still working on me!”  Daddy used to say that, “Life is a process, not an event,” and that we are changing daily!”  He continued to teach that, we, specifically, I, should be “growing and maturing every day!  So, here we Are, 64 years later, and Praise God, I am still attempting to do what Daddy taught me to do and what God expects.  There are days when it is easy to comply with the instructions and there are other days when it is the most difficult task imaginable!  There is a wonderful song that clearly states my case!  Amazingly, since the first time that I heard it, has been my personal theme song for my life.  It is called, “HE’S STILL WORKING ON ME!”  Folks, I have not achieved God’s purpose for my life, I have not arrived, however, I AM ON MY WAY…LEAD BY THE PRECIOUS HOLY SPIRIT, WITH THE FULL AWARENESS THAT “HE’S STILL WORKING ON ME!!” “He's still working on me, To make me what I need to be! It took him just a week to make the moon and stars, The sun and the earth and Jupiter and Mars. How loving and patient He must be, 'Cause He's still workin' on me! He's still working on me, To make me what I need to be. It took him just a week to make the moon and stars, The sun and the earth and Jupiter and Mars. There really ought to be a sign upon my heart; Don't judge him yet, there's an unfinished part, But I'll be better just according to His plan, Fashioned by the Master's loving hands! He's still working on me, To make me what I need to be. It took him just a week to make the moon and stars, The sun and the earth and Jupiter and Mars. How loving and patient He must be, 'Cause He's still workin' on me! In the mirror of His word, Reflections that I see, Makes me wonder why,He never gave up on me, But He loves me as I am and helps me when I pray! Remember He's the potter, I'm the clay! He's still working on me To make me what I need to be It took him just a week to make the moon and stars The sun and the earth and Jupiter and Mars How loving and patient He must be 'Cause He's still workin' on me!!  God’s plan, God’s purpose is for us to “Grow” and “Mature” in His Grace and in His Love.  Regardless of the circumstances, situations, frustrations, ignorance of others, evil acts, misinformation, prejudices, hatred, lies, or any other “Worldly” challenge or influence should keep us from “Being What God Has Planned For Us To Be!  If God allows me another 20 years or 20 minutes, may it be said that “HE’S STILL WORKING ON ME!”  How about you?  Stay Strong, Stay Focused…Remember, THE BEST REALLY IS YET TO BE!!
