November 17 He Is In Our Midst Zephaniah 3:17
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “The Lord your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save, He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His Love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” (Zephaniah 3:17)
Becoming a Christian was the BEST decision that I have ever made. When I came to Jesus Christ and accepted His selfless act on Calvary, my eternity was secure. When I attempt to get my mind around “eternity,” or “forever,” I am limited. It is truly beyond my comprehension, yet it a fact; I am saved and secure for eternity! When I came to Christ, He promised my eternity, however, not just my eternity being secure, He promised that He would provide His power and strength and wisdom to live my life, right here, right now! The calm assurance, in my life, is the fact that in every situation I face, in every victory that I enjoy and in every trial that I endure, my Christ, my Savior is with me. Because of my relationship with Christ, I can experience the rejoicing and the gladness that He provides, to me, through His Love…not just for eternity, but right here and now! As we all endure this present challenge and as we all go through the political and social upheaval, we all have the tendency to see the problem instead of the solution. As early as this morning, I thought, “How are we going to make it through this challenge and what is going to be required of us before the end is in sight?” Things like, delaying our traditional family Thanksgiving Meal until the Spring or cancelling a planned gathering of our Pre-Christmas lunch or avoiding our everyday encounters. The threat of COVID19 is real and seems to be getting closer to my back door. Individuals that we support through their service businesses have reported that they have or are experiencing the effects of this virus. Every one of our lives has been disrupted! Regardless of how you FEEL about this Pandemic, it is REAL and it is SPREADING and it is NO RESPECTER OF ANYONE! How, as a Forgiven Follower of Christ, do we proceed? We move forward by clinging to our FAITH IN GOD, and CLAIMING HIS PROMISES, and RECOGNIZE THE REALITY, and EMBRACE THE FACT THAT HE IS IN OUR MIDST!!! It requires FAITH and COMMITMENT and SURRENDER to make it through these times! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
