July 13 “By Faith…!” Hebrews 11:6
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “But without Faith it is impossible to please Him: For, he that cometh unto God must believe that He is, and that He is a Rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6)
Hebrews, chapter eleven, is known as the “FAITH CHAPTER!” It is known as the “Faith Chapter” because it mentions, at least, eighteen outstanding servants of God who did outstanding things “BY FAITH!” “By Faith” is the way that God’s people should operate! Faith is necessary for us to accomplish what God has for us to do. Many are trying to “be good Christians” by keeping a set of rules and expectations, while neglecting the call to be “Faithful!” God told us that when we “Diligently” seek Him, that He would reward us, so, why are we attempting to “play” Christian by doing it on our own? How do I know that this is happening? I see the “Fruit!” When we walk in “Faith,” we understand what God requires of us and we are in a position to fulfill His purpose for us. There have been times, in my personal life, when difficulties and struggles and hurt and pain and disappointment and calamities and death and misery have dominated my existence, yet, by “Faith,” I have recognized who is in control and claimed His promises that He would reward me, if I sought Him with all that is within me! Guess what? HE DID NOT LIE TO ME!! The same “Call to Faith” that Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Enoch, Paul and every believer throughout history, is the same call that we have today! There are going to be trials, there are going to be difficulties, there are going to be challenges, there are going to be issues, and there are going to be opposition to your “Faithfulness,” so, do we fold under the pressures of this world or do we “Stand Strong and Stand Up, “with a “Commitment and unwavering Faith” in our God, and embrace His promises, and “Diligently” seek Him, in the face of overwhelming odds? I say, ABSOUTELY! In Matthew 9:22, a woman who had had a blood disease for 12 years was made whole in an instant because og her faith. So, what has your faith done for you? Has it freed you from the bondage of sin? Has it healed you of your spiritual sickness? Has it brought you inner peace and joy that the Bible speaks about? Has it provided assurance and contentment in the face of all that is going on in the world, right his minute? Jesus tells us, as He told the blind man, in verse 30, “According to your faith, be it unto you!” Friends, He promised, I have claimed it and I believe that He will honor His promises! What God does with you, depends upon what you do! It Always has; It Always will!! Be sure, be productive and continue to share the Love of God with others! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…Remember, THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
