July 2 “I Have Fought A Good Fight” 11 Timothy 4:6-7
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:”
ANNOUNCEMENT! ANNOUNCEMENT! We are in a battle for the very heart of America! Some will say, “You are overreacting” or “I don’t want to get involved!” To say that Satan is not at work against the Church and God’s people is to be the Ostrich with his head in the sand! On every news network and on the front pages of every newspaper, we are seeing “Evil” being played out before our eyes. At this moment, as we see the Spiritual Fight of “Good” verses “Evil,” it is hard to determine who is actually winning the struggle. Actually, this is sad! The Victory has been promised to the Believer and we ought to recognize our responsibility and work to make it reality. “So, what am I to do Preacher, to make a difference?” Victory, for the Believer, has been established as a “done deal,” and we should be about the business of acting like it! We must continue to “GROW IN OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD and to take on the Spiritual Equipment to battle the forces of EVIL that are against us! A casual observation of the absolutely insane activities that are happening on the streets of America, the first thought is, “What is the outcome that is desired?” There are so many who are being led astray by emotion and hatred, with no end game in sight! So, how are we, as Believers, to deal with this situation? First, we must have a growing and vital personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. It is pure foolishness to think that we can engage in the Spiritual fight without being fully committed to God to empower us for the battle. We must be willingly committed to stay the course and to be willing to engage until victory is achieved. Paul told Timothy that he had “fought a good fight and that he had finished his course!” Paul was able to achieve victory because he was committed to God, to the struggle and to the promises of God. Believer, we must have courage in the face of this present evil and stand strong and have perseverance to see it to the end! Please do not allow the “Shouts of Satanic Voices” to drown out the “Call of God” to stand strong and to persevere and to “fight the good fight!” Paul committed himself to fight a good fight for good and the Good News of Christ. He was courageous and he would and did not give up! He stated, with confidence, “I have fought a good fight!!” We must stand, right where we are, and pledge to make a difference, so that we can proclaim, with dedicated assurance, just like Paul! Can you say this? What God does with you, depends upon what you do! It Always has; It Always will!! Be sure, be productive and continue to share the Love of God with others! To God Be the Glory! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…Remember, THE BEST IS YET TO BE!!
