March 19 Don’t Be Dismayed! Joshua 1:9
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” (Joshua 1:9)
Over the past 10 days, I have been challenged, with the opportunity, to be tempted to be negative and to have a “Woe Is Me” attitude! On Wednesday, March 10, a dear brother in the Faith; sent this scripture to me as an encouragement! Joshua 1:9 says for me to be “Strong and Courageous!” It goes on to instruct me to have “No Fear, or to be “Dismayed!” This amazing set of instructions is for you and me! Praise God, our Lord is with us, wherever we go and whatever we encounter! Even though, the circumstances of the past 9 days has exercised my patience, my attitude and my ability to control my tongue; my Lord continues to remind me of HIS Presence, HIS Power and HIS Personal Involvement in this present situation. It is difficult to keep your focus and to keep your mind centered on the promises, when your best friend and life’s partner and the one that you love more than life itself, is hurting and struggling and there is absolutely nothing that you can physically do to change the circumstances! In the small hours of the morning, with Annette’s hand in mine, I have called out to Jesus for comfort and easing of the pain and for HIS healing touch to cover her body. Joshua 1:9 and the reminder of His Presence and Power, and the fact that “He promised that All things will work for good to those that are called according to His purpose!” I am here to report that God is honoring His Promises and Annette is getting better and I am so grateful for the prayers and positive encouragements from so many of our fellow believers! Thank you for helping us to stay focused…and to “Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed:” Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
