March 25 Meditate on These Things Philippians 4:8
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” (Philippians 4:8)
During the past several months, I have found myself being distracted by the “craziness” of the Pandemic and the reactions of others. Today, I am amazed at the sinful perspective of the leaders of our land and the anti-Christian thoughts and ideas that are becoming more and more acceptable. There seems to be a “wave” of anti-American, anti- Rule of Law, and it is being replaced by emotion and an acceptable lifestyle that has no foundations or rules. As a Follower of Christ, I have a responsibility to follow the dictates and rules established, for me, in the Holy Bible. “What would Jesus do” is my ongoing question! In order to successfully navigate through this evil and to truly live for Jesus, it is absolutely critical that I control my mind and harness what I think about! Keep in mind, what you think about and what you dwell on, you will act on! If you want to be more like Jesus, then think on Him. Regardless of what this evil world tells you to do, be true to what you know is correct and be that “Bright Light that is set on the Top of the Hill,” so that the entire world can see the Love of God, in you, and that you are different from this world! As simple as it is…the lesson today is clear! If we are to successfully serve our Savior and be a Witness of His Love and Forgiveness, then we have to think positively and act on His promises and be what He has called us to be! If your lifestyle includes watching programs that are not edifying to our Savior, or reading materials that are not edifying to God, or hanging around folks that are not edifying to your success as a Follower of Christ, then don’t do it!! Focus on the positive message of Christ and focus your thoughts on that which is going to “Grow” your Faith, not tear it down! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
