Baptist Tabernacle Daily Devotion July 26, 2021 Wayne Batten
Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6
Good Morning Baptist Tabernacle Church Family. As you may recall, Pastor Glen is on vacation and the Deacons are presenting this week’s Daily Devotions. I don’t send them out as early as Glen, but I hope you enjoy today’s message and think about it.
Many of you know Pam and I lead our Children’s Church each Sunday. Before the Pandemic, we often had ten or more children attend, but since we only have a few. I hope if you have children, you will consider bringing them back to Church as soon as possible.
God told us to Train up our children and they will know how to serve as they grow old. When Pam and I moved back to Wendell after living in Burgaw for 15 years, we visited other Churches in the area to look at what they had going on. After a few weeks, we decided to visit Baptist Tabernacle. The above Bible message hit me hard that day. Pastor Glen was out sick and Glenn Bunn, Chair of the Deacons was leading the service. Later, he introduced Nate Hocutt as our Guest Pastor. We had worked with both young men when they were in Royal Ambassadors. As we all know, young boys can be a hand full, and I can remember some challenging times with them and all the young boys and girls we worked with. But look at the message from the Bible. Look at what these two young men have grown into.
We are looking for ways to expand our Children’s Ministry program at Baptist Tabernacle. We have Bible School coming up August 28 and we have scheduled another Evangelism Block Party for September 18. I encourage you to help us out with these programs. You may wonder how you can help. Let me offer the following suggestions:
· Pray for us to have stimulating programs for our children to encourage them to want to come to Church.
· Offer your time and talents to make these and other programs for Children stimulating for them.
· Recruit Children, maybe family members, neighbors, people at work or play, and tell them about our programs.
· Follow-up and offer rides to Church for any Children who need assistance in getting here.
God told us to Train up a Child. We are all Children of God, and we all continue to be trained. Will you consider helping us Train the next generation and see the Wonders God Will Provide.
