January 4 Excitement in Service 2 Corinthians 5:17
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
What a true joy it is to watch a new believer embrace the promises of God and experience the amazing joy that come from “Knowing the Savior!” There is excitement surrounding that new believer and there is an energy that is contagious! When the “veil” of sin is removed and the “light” of His Holy Grace warms our lives, then we will experience the “Joy” that comes with complete and total transformation! Colossians 3:2 instructs us to “Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.” Romans 8:28 reminds us that, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” God has great and mighty things for the Believer, and we are to embrace the “Newness” of His Saving Grace and get excited that we are protected from the effects of sin when we claim His Grace and experience His Power for Living! Jeremiah 29:11 is an exciting promise for the believer! It offers the assurance of His Protection and Guidance. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11) When was the last time that you awoke with the words of gratitude and praise on your lips? When was the last time that you got excited about sharing the “Life Changing Love of God” with your family, neighbors and even total strangers? Could it be that we “settle” into mediocrity in our Faith and that we lose the zeal of excitement that we once had as a new believer? Please understand that “Church Work” is extremely important, but it is not more important that sharing the Good News with unbelievers! I am praying, a new prayer in 2026, and that is that my Savior, through the divine empowerment of the Holy Spirit, will create a new excitement in my soul and a fresh perspective in my service and He will cause me to be a genuine reflection of His Grace and Glory! Folks, I am finished with mediocrity, I want to be the most effective and boldest and loudest and genuine witness for Jesus that I can possibly be! How About You? Remember the excitement of your salvation experience? Get on your knees and ask the Lord to give you the excitement of your first experience and allow that excitement to grow into a witness that is strong and bold and effective! I am looking forward to each new day that God provides for me to serve, and I claim His Power, Provision and Presence as I boldly serve Him! Stay Strong, Stay Focused… THE best is yet to be!
Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”
