January 5 Test, Try, Examine, Discern 2 Peter 2:1
** God is So Good! Welcome to the SEVEN NEW MEMBERS that joined our family at BTC Yesterday! Praise God -TWO Additional Baptism Candidates! God Is Still in the “Saving” Business! TO GOD BE THE GLORY! **
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves.” (2 Peter 2:1)
2026 provides a new opportunity for Satan to continue his quest and campaign of misinformation, half-truths, lies, camouflaged messages of destruction, and a host of glossy, humanistic messages of distorted lies! Wow! Just last night, I was listening to a “TV Preacher,” and all was well until he began speaking distortions and words that were simply wrong! With a smile on his face, and charm in his delivery, he was promoting “False Doctrine” and “Distorted” Realities! I immediately turned the channel and as I sat contemplating the influence of this “False Teacher,” I, through the awareness provided by the Holy Spirit, began to understand the scriptures that warn of glossy showmen that bring a form of truth, yet promoting lies that edify Satan and not our Savior, Jesus Christ! 1 John 4:1 instructs us clearly: “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” John advises believers to discern the truth carefully, testing teachings against God’s word. This verse reminds us that not all teachings are trustworthy. By testing the spirits, believers ensure that their faith remains anchored in authentic truth rather than in false doctrines. Please do not allow the “Flashy” entertainment-oriented worship services to cloud the reality of God’s Grace and Glory through Jesus Christ! Please, Please, Please, Please Remember that the final authority is the Word of God, found in the pages of the Holy Bible, and the words of a preacher or teacher that are not grounded in His Holy Word are echoes of unrighteousness! Opinions, Political positions, Humanistic bias, “Feel Good” doctrines are not of God, but from the author of confusion, Satan! Again, 1 John 4:1 instructs us clearly: “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” Stay Strong, Stay Focused…. THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
