August 30 Surrender, Not Judgment Romans 8:37
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” (Romans 8:37)
The older that I become, and the more that I grow in HIM, the more I am convinced that the things that I once deemed important, are simply not so important after all! I am grateful for those that have influenced my life and my spiritual journey! I think back to a time when I was so very irritating in my Christian walk, and I felt as if I was the final authority on actions, words and deportment! Looking back, I was completely and amazingly “Judgmental,” towards everyone and everything! Thank God for wise counsel and fellow believers that loved me and were willing to gently guide me into a new reality (I didn’t make the rules, and I wasn’t the final authority on behavior and actions)! Mr. S.P. Scott reminded me that I was on a journey with my Lord and that I must recognize that others are on the same journey, and that I should pray for wisdom and I should pray for others, as I exercised the wisdom that God provides! Wow! What a relief! The day that I realized that I was not in control of others and that I wasn’t even in control of me! When I surrendered my life to Christ, and claimed His promise of redemption, I signed a Declaration of Dependence on His Promises, The Holy Spirit, and His Amazing Grace! Regardless of my human tendencies, God has provided His Way, His Will, and His Promises for an old hardhead like me! When I began to implement His Grace and Promises into my life, and I stopped being condescending and “Holier than Thou” with my neighbors, then I truly understood the command to “Love One Another!” Folks, let God “FIX” You before You attempt to “FIX” others! When we surrender all to Him, then, and only then, will we even come close to being “Conquerors!” Let the “Fruit of the Spirit” be demonstrated in all that you are and hope to be… Galatians 5:22-23: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Stay Strong, Stay Focused … THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
