Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… ““Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)
God’s Word makes it crystal clear; we are not to fear! Now, in our humanity, we all experience times of fear and the dread that is associated with fear! So, how are we to live without fear? The reality is that Fear exists, yet we are not to allow Fear to dominate our lives and control our future! I am talking about this thing called Fear because many of us are struggling with the reality and wondering how to overcome the issue. Recently, a dear lady asked me how she was to overcome her fear and to live for Jesus, the way that she knew that she should. I told her to recognize that Fear exists and go to God in prayer, asking for victory over the darkness and Fear that is real and difficult, in her life. I told her that Faith in God, and His promises for victory, will allow her to overcome her fears and to grow in His Grace. Daddy used to preach that, “When your Faith increases, your doubts and fears will decrease!” Folks, allow the “Light of God’s Word” to penetrate the darkness of your lives and claim His Power, Provision, Presence and Strength and boldly live your life in order to Honor God and to be a “Light” for God, in this dark and dismal world! I can hear my Daddy now, “Recognize the Fear and do it anyway! God has you in His Hands!” Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." (Joshua 1:9)
The one fact of living in the 21st Century, is the reality of problems, in our daily living! Through loss and chaos and Pandemic issues and violence and unrest and evil situations that abound, we, as Believers, are to press on despite the issues and problems! Joshua was presented with a dilemma, in that, Moses, the Great Leader was dead, and he was, now, the Leader, and the future was uncertain and the path to take was rocky, yet Moses was dead, but God is not! Joshua was faced with the task of leading his people into the “Promised Land,” and to follow the leading of God Almighty! Friends, we have the same blessing and the same challenge, today! The past is the past, and we are to look to the future with Hope and with a sense of urgency, as we follow Christ and serve Him! We are to press on, as we claim His Promises for our future! Keep Looking Up and Forward! We are to press on with the assurance of His empowerment and His Amazing Grace that will enable us to move forward, while praising Him and walking in His Almighty Presence! God told Joshua to “Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed…” He has given us the same call! I praise God that He is my Rock, my Shield, my Power for Living, my Guide and Enabler! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending [my disciples] into the world. And I give myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by your truth." (John 17:18-19 NIV)
In John 17, we experience the High Priestly Prayer of Jesus, which happens to be the longest recorded prayer in the Bible. This prayer is an intercession for His Disciples. This prayer assures us that we are “Sanctified” to serve the Lord! The Savior, the True Intercessor has made our sanctification to service as reality! Jesus sent His disciples into the world to bring the “Good News” and to make a difference in the lives of all that they encountered! Jesus gave Himself completely and totally to the Mission that God had ordained for Him, and He has sent us on this same Mission, to share the Good News and to make a difference in the lives of all that we encounter! As Followers of Christ, our Mission is God-Led, God-Inspired, and is God-Ordained! The fact is that we are His, and our Mission is His, because we are followers of Christ, and we belong to Him, and we are called to this Life-Altering Mission! Friends, we need to live our lives as a reflection of His Commission and act as ambassadors for the Cause of Christ, in everything that we do and speak! He has ordained us, He has “sanctified us,” and He has empowered us to “Go into the World” and to proclaim the Good News! Every day, in every situation, I continue to pray that Jesus will make me an instrument of His purpose and regardless of the challenges and difficulties, cause me to be a “Purveyor of the TRUTH!” How about you? Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “We also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation” (Romans 5:11)
Palm Sunday, April 10, 2022 has arrived, and we are in another “Easter” season! We have so many things to be thankful for and so many things to Praise God for! God’s Love and His Grace for us, is difficult to understand, because we live in a world where we receive what we have earned. When I was “selling” for a living, I was always told and always taught, “Sell More, Earn More!” In this life, when we perform, we prosper, and when we don’t, we don’t! I used to act as a “Coach” for my sales team, a lot like a sports team, and I would encourage and instruct them to perform at maximum capacity. In the Game of Life, we have a “Coach” called God, and we are now members of a very special team. He lays out the rules by which we will perform, and He has Divine Hopes that we will live better and better! When we stumble or fail to meet expectations, He simply points us to the Cross and says, “Do not worry, I will not drop you. I love you regardless and nothing that you do will make me stop loving and forgiving you!” God loved us enough that He sent His Only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us on that rugged and horrible Cross, to pay the price for our sins and to provide redemption and atonement for our transgressions! This Love, This Great Love, that has provided Salvation and Restoration and atonement, is freely given to us, by God’s Amazing Love and Desire that we should be Re-Connected to Him through Jesus Christ! Picture Jesus hanging there on that Cross! Remember: Jesus Died on that Cross! He was buried in a borrowed tomb! The Glorious Truth of Easter 2022 (and every single day) is that the Tomb is EMPTY! HE HAS RISEN! HE IS ALIVE AND HE IS SITTING AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD, THE FATHER, INTERCEDING FOR US AND OUR HUMAN WEAKNESSES! The wonderful story of Easter is simply this: God Loved Us Enough to Send Jesus to Die for us, to be Raised from the Dead, for us, and to Live so that we too, could live! May we Praise God for His love and reconciliation power to give us a new vision and a new and fresh perspective on living! “We also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation” Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
THE HARVEST IS READY
April 9 The Harvest is Ready Matthew 9:37-38
EASTER ANNOUNCEMENT: On April 17, 2022, we will have a “SONRISE” Service. It will begin at 7:00am, and there will be a biscuit and coffee breakfast provided.

Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” (Matthew 9:37-38)
The past fourteen years of ministry has been about teaching and preaching “Life-Style” Evangelism! As “Born-Again” Children of God, we have a responsibility to “Share” His Good News and to Live to demonstrate His Grace and Love to others! We are “Called” to Share our Faith and to help navigate folks into a “Saving” relationship with Jesus Christ! Keep this fact in mind: WE are called to be “Harvesters,” and the “Harvest” belongs to God! We are to be the conduit of His Grace, to the Lost and Dying souls that He brings into our paths. I read, somewhere, that we are to be involved in “Gossiping the Gospel!” We need to pray that the Holy Spirit will bring us into the paths of those that God would have us witness to and would have us engaged in the “harvest!” Dear Friends, statistics tell us that, since 1970, 96% of individuals are not saved! Oh my goodness… In a country that is blessed beyond measure and in a society that enjoys the “freedoms” and the Blessings, beyond any nation in history, yet there are a mere 4% that claim to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ! Friends, the time is NOW! The Harvest is truly GREAT! Pray that God will give you a sense of urgency and a burden for the lost! Pray that the Blessed Holy Spirit will guide you, prepare you, engage you, in sharing Jesus and stopping the “slide towards Hell” of this generation! 2 Peter 3:9 tells us the reality: “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” God has provided the means of re-establishing relationship with Him, through the Redeeming Blood of Jesus, and He wants everyone to accept and to participate in this Great Love! Sadly, there will be those who will not come to His Saving Grace Relationship and will die in their sins and will be destined for a “Burning and Eternal Hell!” Please Lord, make us the model, in our lifestyle and our actions and our words, the example of Your Love and Saving Grace, so that we can help others to become “Children of God!” May we be obedient to Your call, and steadfast in our mission, and resolute in our purpose! “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… ““Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” (Isaiah 26:3)
Over the past two years, with its chaos and upheaval and demonstrations of hatred and evil, I have been challenged to stay focused on what is real and eternal. I the midst of political and radical ideological changes in our national resolve, I have found myself caught up in the insanity of a popular movement of secular and temporal thoughts and desires. How am I to react to anti-Christian, anti-American rhetoric that is absolutely opposed to my convictions, my thoughts, my upbringing, and my Christian values? How easy it is to lose focus on what is real and just and edifying to our Lord and Savior! Yesterday, once again, the news outlets were concentrating on the idea that the COVID-19 virus and its variants, have caused increased stress and a spike in mental health issues. Really? Extreme changes to our way of life and isolation and distancing and all the negative (both real and created) that has been reported and experienced, no wonder that folks are experiencing some levels of depression and disfunction! Friends, I thank God for His Power and Presence in my life and the Provision for Peace! God has promised that, when we are focused on the correct things and when we are committed to His Will, then we are going to experience “Perfect Peace,” regardless of the circumstances! For almost two years, I have ended each daily devotional, with the admonition to “STAY STRONG, STAY FOCUSED!” Our survival requires True Focus on what is Real and Just and Edifying to our GOD! The words of a beautiful old hymn (My heart is fixed, O God on Thee), provides the encouragement that we need to, not only survive, but to THRIVE! “My heart is fixed O God on Thee, No more my feet shall go astray; I caught a glimpse of Calvary, and now I walk with Christ today. My heart is fixed O God on Thee, my eyes are now on things above, from worldly yokes, Praise God I’m free, I’m running o’er with Joy and Love. One time I wandered far away, I did not heed the Shepherd’s voice; My heart on God is fixed today, For He is my eternal choice. My heart is fixed, my face is set, upon the prize that lies before; all other claims I will reject, My Heart is fixed forevermore. No longer tossed upon the waves, Of sin and doubt but now I sail; within the life boat, JESUS SAVES, No Storms against me shall prevail.” Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “So, which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?” And he said, “He who showed mercy on him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.” (Luke 10:36-37)
One of my favorite parables, is the parable of the “Good Samaritan!” I love the lesson that it teaches and the way in which we should deal with others, regardless of their position in life! Many people passed by this man in need, and because of their own bias and prejudices, walked past him, on the far side of the road. Wow! I must be careful that this doesn’t describe me and my actions! Only one individual showed care and concern and he went the “extra mile,” to take care of the needs of this poor soul. What is the difference between this one man and the others that passed by? The real and lasting difference is “LOVE!” Friends, we are faced with similar choices today! Are we going to be a Strong and Loving Witness for God, in this divided and segmented society, or are we going to demonstrate our own human prejudices and forget the grace of God and the blessings of our own salvation? I truly believe that, as “Born-Again, Blood Bought, Children of God, we must demonstrate intentional and radical LOVE! Over the past several weeks, I have been talking and teaching about witnessing and sharing Jesus with everyone that we meet, yet if we are not demonstrating this Good News, in our actions and habits, then our words will fall short of the intended purpose! There are desperate needs among our fellow travelers, and there are hurting and needy people that we meet, every day. How will we respond to the needs? Is it true, that everyone needs Jesus? Can we recognize the need, and then work to meet that need? Please Lord, place me in the pathway of those who are in need! The question for today is simple: Will you walk past the needy, or will you stop; help and demonstrate His Real and Radical LOVE? The Bible teaches, My experience proves, that LOVE CHANGES THINGS! This world needs God’s LOVE! This world needs the example of RADICAL LOVE, demonstrated before them, in words and in actions! Let’s be the “Good Samaritan” for this needy world! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:” (1 Peter 1:8)
We (Christians) are called to “walk” by FAITH, and not by what we see! In Hebrews 11:1, the scripture passage defines “FAITH” as, “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen!” How could the First Century Christians continue to follow Christ, when they were facing brutal and fierce persecution, torture, and death? How did they endure? Their secret is found in one word: FAITH!! This FAITH has the amazing power to guide and direct believers through the roughest and darkest days that can be imagined! The same FAITH that sustained Abraham, the same FAITH that compelled Noah to obey the call of God, the same FAITH that empowered Paul to Preach the Good News, is the same FAITH that can direct, empower, and sustain us, right now, today!! This FAITH is the energy that drives Christians through the challenges and trials of this life! Peter tells us, in the scripture passage for today, that he was anticipating seeing Jesus! This FAITH, this Confidence was his overwhelming and driving force! Challenges, circumstances, issues, chaos were no match for the FAITH that drove and sustained these early believers! LISTEN, the same FAITH that propelled these believers past the issues of the day, is the same FAITH that provides power for our living, right now, today! This same Jesus, that died on the Cross, arose from the Grave, and is now seated on the Right Side of God, the Father, advocating for you and I, still provides His Power to change us, sustain us, save us and to see us through, until we stand in His presence, through FAITH in Him, as OVERCOMERS! May each of us have this genuine FAITH that guides, empowers, and sustains us, until we see His Face in Eternity! Let our lives of FAITH, bring Praise, Honor and Glory to Our God, through our Savior, Jesus Christ! “Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:” Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the Devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and He will come near to you.” (James 4:7-8)
My Prayer Closet is, literally, a closet. I go into the closet, and I come near to God through prayer. When I am weary and worn, from ministry and obedience, I come close to God through prayer. When I am excited and upbeat and feeling blessed, I come close to God in Prayer! Are you sensing a pattern? Prayer is the absolute Key to success as a Christian and for our walk in Obedience. Prayer time is a special time and I covet my time alone with my Lord and Savior. Amazingly, I have expanded my Prayer Closet to include our front porch, my car, and my lawnmower. “Praying always…,” that is what He expects! Jesus was human, yet Divine. This concept is difficult for us to absorb; however, He WAS a man, and He IS the Son of God. Jesus prayed to the Father for guidance and strength and for comfort and for the completion of His Divine Mission! If Jesus prayed and recognized the necessity for prayer, and was dedicated to the communication with His Father, don’t you think that we should do the same? How do we submit ourselves to God? WE ARE TO PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!! WE ARE TO RESIST THE DEVIL!! Again, WE ARE TO PRAY, PRAY, PRAY…Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.” (Psalm 31:24)
My mother used to read a story to me, from an old Indian folklore book, and one of those stories dealt with courage. When we were at the lake, last week, every morning, just about daybreak, I observed the birds and the way that they dealt with the bigger birds that were attempting to get their piece of bread that was provided by the big round thing that was in the swing (that was me). This big bird came in, all big and bad, and the smaller birds scrambled, except for one smaller bird. This bird was “in the face” of the big bird and he would chase the larger bird away. Amazingly, the other smaller birds would return to eating the bread. As I witnessed this interaction, I recalled that story, from long ago, that spoke of courage and where to find courage. The story went like this: “There was a mouse that was afraid of cats, so the magician agreed to turn the mouse into a cat. The fear of cats disappeared. Well, the newly transformed cat met a dog, and the fear was back, so the magician turned the cat into a dog. Are you keeping up? Alright, the mouse turned cat turned dog was happy until he met a tiger, and, once again, the magician turned him into the thing that he feared, a tiger. Well, the tiger came to the magician and was complaining that he had met a hunter! Shock of all shocks…the magician would not help! He told the tiger that he would change him back into a mouse, just because you have the body of a tiger, you still have the heart of a mouse.” Listen, we can build up a gruff and imposing exterior and still tremble with fear on the inside! Courage is an outgrowth of who we are and who we serve. We can face our fears with force, and we can construct mighty exteriors, and we can hoard wealth and can seek fame and fortune, but do these things work to bring us courage? Exterior supports are temporary, but only our inward character and relationship creates courage! “Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.” (Psalm 31:24) Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of Peace shall be with you.” (Philippians 4:9)
Wow! COVID 19, and its lasting effects, have made one thing crystal clear, to me, and that is that we need some Divinely Inspired, Holy Ghost Changes in our Lives! Changes in our Society, Our Churches, and in our Daily Living! It is so very easy to “climb up on our soapbox” and declare to others what they should do or not do, while not doing anything about ourselves! I have a dear family member that enjoys saying, “Well, if I were you, I’d do it this way!” How easy it is to judge others, yet our lives are not reflections of our lofty instructions! Does Character Matter? Does the way that we live really matter? God’s word tells us that IT DOES MATTER! If we are to be effective witnesses for our Lord, then, YES, character matters! Things like “HONESTY, SEXUAL INTEGRITY, GENEROSITY, OPTIMISM, and HUMILITY IN SERVICE!” Why don’t we decide to be the change that we want to see! What a “Novel” approach! Wow! To be what God intends for us to be and to walk in the “Character” that He expects us to demonstrate! Friends, I am grateful for the past 2 years and all that it has forced me to come to terms with! God has used these difficult times to teach me and to guide me and to require of me, a deeper commitment, and a stronger response to, and for my Spiritual Growth! As I walk with Christ, I was to be a part of the change that is occurring and I want to be a witness for my Lord, to this lost and dying world! Friends, we have a responsibility to be a part of the change that is occurring, and we have a duty to honor His Word and to Live so that others WILL SEE JESUS IN US! I am going to continue to share JESUS, Preach His Word, Praying for my Neighbors, Lifting the Burdens of others and living my life as a Surrendered and Grateful Servant of our Living Lord, Jesus Christ! How about You? “Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of Peace shall be with you.” (Philippians 4:9) Remember: WHAT GOD DOES WITH YOU IS ENTIRELY UP TO YOU! IT ALWAYS HAS AND IT ALWAYS WILL! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
