EYES ON JESUS
May 25 Eyes on Jesus Ephesians 1:18
PLEASE Pray for the families that lost loved ones in the tragic shooting in Uvalde, Texas. Words simply fail to describe the emotions and the grief that exists. This is another example of the Evil that continues to expand across our world. Just Pray!

Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “May He enlighten the eyes of your mind so that you can see what hope His call holds for you.” (Ephesians 1:18)
WWJD…Do you remember the bracelets that were popular a few years ago? WWJD… “What Would Jesus Do?” We are told and I continue to preach, that we are to be like Jesus. What does it mean to be “like Jesus?” Think about it…This old world has never known a man like Jesus. His heart was pure, and his lifestyle and character were without fault or blemish. He was in tune with the Father, and He heard every whisper of the Father God. Jesus brought to mankind His mercy, that was powerfully capable of forgiving our sins. He reached out to great and small, and He was engaged in the lives of those who were in need. This man called Jesus, endured the suffering and shame and pain and ridicule, yet He never quit, and He was determined to fulfill His mission for Humanity. Jesus is the ultimate model for humanity, and we are to embrace His mission, His Grace and His Mercy and emulate Him in every area of our lives! To Be Christ-Like, is to emulate Jesus Christ! We must focus on Jesus and, we must embrace His example for living and we must make Jesus the center of our existence! Christmas is a great time to reflect and inspect and adjust our priorities and become more “Christ-Like” in all that we do! We have the EXAMPLE, now let’s BE WHAT HE WANTS US TO BE! In His Love…Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE….

THE IMPOSSIBLE MADE POSSIBLE
May 23 The Impossible Made Possible Mark 10:27
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “And Jesus looking upon them saith, with men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.” (Mark 10:27)
I absolutely love this promise from my Savior! There are times, especially in recent days, that I have been bewildered and overwhelmed by the challenges of the day and have had a sense of being defeated and I Praise God that this promise of God, spoken by my Savior, has brought me back to the reality of my living! When I remember God’s great Love for me, and all the promises that He provides and the necessity to be what He has called me to be, well, all the blues and defeated attitudes simple disappear and I am ready and re-energized to take on the impossible, directed and empowered by the Holy Spirit! Alone, I am weak, but through my God, I have strength to overcome and to live for Him with power and assurance and with the humanly impossible, becomes absolutely and totally possible through my God! Remember the VICTORY PRINCIPLE? “I affirm that God’s power is rising in me, renewing, and healing my body, bringing power to my mind, giving me success in my work. I affirm health, energy, enthusiasm, the joy of life! All of this I owe to Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. He has given me the VICTORY PRINCIPLE for which I thank Him every day!” I continue to Praise God for making the IMPOSSIBLE, completely POSSIBLE, in my walk with Him! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

OUR LOCAL CHURCH AT 100
May 22 Our Local Church at 100 Ephesians 4:11-12
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina…“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,” (Ephesians 4:11-12)
Over 100 years ago, a group of believers, saw the need for another church fellowship, and set about to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, and established, what we now know as the Baptist Tabernacle Church! As I reflect on 100 years of service and ministry, I am encouraged that we are still about the Father’s business! Praise God! We are still following the biblical call to “Equip the Saints,” and to “Edify the body of Christ!” In the life of any organization, there are struggles and difficulties and there are always challenges that must be met, but, PRAISE GOD, this fellowship, this band of believers, that we call Baptist Tabernacle Church, have met the challenges and are continuing to serve God and represent His Good News into the 21st century, strong and growing, with a sense of mission and of His Purpose! Dear Friends, I count it as a privilege and a blessing to be the pastor of such a dynamic and growing fellowship! Satan continues to bombard us with his brand of confusion and deception, however, as we commit ourselves to prayer and fasting and the guidance of the Blessed Holy Spirit, we are positioned to be a BRIGHT LIGHT in the darkness that is this evil world! I thank God, daily, that He has provided the opportunity to serve with such amazing people! Who would have thought that in January of 2008, that I would have the blessing of being the longest serving pastor of this amazing church family! Thank you, God! Thank you, Baptist Tabernacle Family! As we embark on another 100 years of worship, ministry, music, and fellowship, may we commit to being greater tomorrow than we are today, for His Honor and His Glory, and to help others avoid the fires of Hell! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS TRULY AND MOST ASSUREDLY YET TO BE!

PERSONAL COMMITMENT
May 20 Personal Commitment James 4:7-8
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… ““Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” (James 4:7-8)
Who is in charge, of your life? Who has your loyalty and devotion? Who do you look to for authority and guidance for your living? James is pointing out that we, want to serve God, yet we allow the Devil to have authority over our lives. We must choose who we will follow! Through the Blood of Jesus, our God has provided the ability to stand up against the wiles of the Devil, as he creates temptations, within our lives. Under the Redeeming Blood of Jesus, we are no longer controlled by the power of sin, nor are we helpless against Satan and his minions. Praise God! We have the power and the authority to stand up and speak with Holy Power, to Satan and his henchmen, to get away and to “Flee” from us! When we choose to draw near to God and resist the wiles of Satan, the scriptures tell us that He (God) will move closer to us! Remember, we have the Victory! We just, have, to claim it! Live it! Share it! I choose to resist Satan, Claim God’s Promises of Victory and be confident in my personal devotion and commitment, each day of my life! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

LIVING WITH CERTAINTY
May 19 “Living with Certainty” Psalm 119:105
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (Psalm 119:105)
Wow! We are living in some crazy times! Haphazard behaviors, undisciplined ways, absence of basic Common Sense, and so many other words to describe a society that seems to have lost its way! During one of my, “I can’t sleep” nights, I was watching a program about self-improvement, and I was fascinated that they were promoting the idea that, with just a few short moments, each day, with their program, that you could transform yourself into a different person. I listened with curiosity, and I thought to myself, “that is preach-able!” The more that I listened, the more I became aware that I already have the best program for self-improvement and life-changing processes! We have the best book available for personal improvement, and that is the HOLY BIBLE! Today, I am going to provide a basic summary of the pathway to being the best that you can be! The very first thing that is required, is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ! “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)… Now that we have the foundation for our growth, we need to be aware that, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…” (Proverbs 23:7)! Let us continue with the lesson of living. “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.” (Galatians 6:7)… “Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” (Matthew 19:19)… Wow! All of the wisdom and advice for living, is already written in this amazing book, “THE TRUE AND LIVING WORD OF GOD, THE HOLY BIBLE!!!” No wonder this book, this AMAZINGLY POWERFUL BOOK, that was written so many years ago, is STILL the ONLY source for our living and our service! This Book is STILL the “Best-seller” in the entire world! Do you think that it is time that we recognized our need, and opened this powerful program for living, and began to “shape-up?” For self-improvement, just reach for the perfect and powerful “WORD OF GOD!” TO GOD BE THE GLORY! Stay Strong, Stay Focused, Stay in the WORD… THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

RESIST EVIL FOLK
May 18 Resist Evil Folk Proverbs 1:10
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “My son, if sinful men entice you, do not give in to them.” (Proverbs 1:10)
Here we go again, with one of my “Life’s Experiences Stories” that teach a valuable lesson, or at least, was valuable to me, at the time! Imagine, if you will, a typical hot Eastern North Carolina evening, with 4 young boys anticipating darkness to fall so that they could “camp-out” all night long. We had done this before, yet this night was different. On this night, we had the addition of an older boy, and he immediately became the leader of this little pack. We were “goofing” around and talking about “girls,” and, all of a sudden, the new boy suggested that this was boring and that we should do something exciting. I will call him Bubba, since he is still living, and he is well known in Eastern Wayne County. Bubba decides that we should go to Mr. A. O. Price’s Store and break into his “Drink” building and take some drinks. The three original boys, which includes me, were reluctant to sign on to this program, however, the pressure to conform and the prestige of Bubba soon wore us down. So, off we go! “How am I going to avoid this and save face?” That “Still Small Voice” was screaming at me… “DON’T DO IT!!!” Immediately, I pretended that my stomach was killing me and that I had to go to the bathroom and that I was going to my house to handle the situation and that I would catch up to them, as quickly as I could resolve the situation. So, they continued, to accomplish their mission, and I went to my house and undressed and crawled into my bed. Daddy came into my room and inquired about why I came home, and I told him that I didn’t feel well. That was the truth…I didn’t feel well about stealing Mr. Price’s drinks! To finish the story…the fellas did go to the store, and they did break into the drink house, and they did get caught! It just so happened that a Wayne County Deputy Sheriff was parked behind the store, yet, out of sight of the drink house. He heard the noise and came to investigate and found my friends and Bubba, inside of the building, at night, with the store closed and drinks in hand. What happened next was, truly ugly! My friend’s parents were called to go to Goldsboro to pick up their sons, including the big boy, Bubba! The next day, the story was all over the small community of Spring Bank. Praise God that my name was not a part of the rapidly spreading news! I didn’t understand what had happened to me that night and why I couldn’t bring myself to follow the fellas into this mess. As I matured, both physically; and more specifically, Spiritually, I understood that the Holy Spirit was guiding and strongly directing me to “Cut and Run” to my safe place! God promised the HOLY SPIRIT and we need to be sensitive and tuned into His teaching, leading, and instructions. This event was over 50 years ago, and it is as clear to me, as if it was 50 minutes ago. Resist the Devil and he will flee from you… Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE! (Re-print)

Additional Note: The Meal will be outside, at the BBQ Shelter Area. There will be transportation provided for those who are unable to walk the distance! The Time is getting closer…
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in SPIRIT & TRUTH.” (John 4:24)
Jesus was in a discussion with the Samaritan woman, and she realized that Jesus was a prophet, and she pointed out the issues related to the Jews and the Samaritans. The Jews worshipped in Jerusalem and the Samaritans worshipped on Mount Gerizim, in their own Temple, and that the Samaritans did not have the same access to worship God. Jesus told this woman that there was coming a day when all peoples could worship the Father anywhere and everywhere, as long, as they worshipped Him in “Spirit & Truth!” Folks, God could care less about a person’s heritage, color, gender, or race! He expects worship and He expects us to be obedient to His call. He knows our motives for worship, and He knows our motives for going to worship. Do we worship out of a sense of Duty or Joy? What God requires and what God expects, in our worship, is a heart that is fully and completely devoted to Him!! As long, as God tarries, and as long, as the opportunity exists for corporate worship, may we remain faithful in our prayer life and may we continue to ask God for His guidance and for His Spirit to direct our worship! We MUST worship God with an OPEN HEART and a SENSE of EXPECTATION. Jesus puts it this way… ““God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in SPIRIT & TRUTH.” Does that include you? Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

"STEADFAST, BECAUSE OF HIS LOVE"
May 16 “Steadfast, Because of His Love” Philippians 4:12-13
ANNOUNCEMENT: Baptist Tabernacle Church will be 100 years old, in 2022. A grand celebration is planned for May 22, 2022, to commemorate the first service as an organized church body! Special information, recognitions, God’s Word, and a catered meal (Parker’s BBQ) will be a part of the celebration. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend the festivities. Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things, I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:12-13)
Every day seems to bring, yet another challenge and another “shortage” and another record price hike, on the essentials of our living. Shortages of basic essentials, shortages of baby formula (the government officials said that the Congress will address this specific issue in a few weeks), general unrest, violence and destruction, and a host of other challenges, have created an atmosphere of dread and despair among so many, including believers! So many have come to me with the same question, “What are we to do?” Well, the answer is simple! We are to continue to serve our God, and we are to continue to live for Him, and we are to continue to share His Grace and Good News, and we are to look to God’s provision and power for our living! The Apostle Paul stated clearly that he has experienced “Good times” and “Tough times,” and he was “Good,” either way! He declared that “Christ was all that he needed to be an overcomer!” That is the same recipe for us, right now, today! Yes, there are shortages, there are political and social issues, there are conflicting thoughts and actions, there are individuals that are determined to undermine the American way of life, and our basic human freedoms are being assaulted, every single day, yet we do not have to be discouraged, for our God has promised VICTORY, in and for our living! Remember, IT IS YOUR ATTITUDE, NOT YOUR APTITUDE, THAT WILL DETERMINE YOUR ALTITIUDE! Listen, I do not understand how we can go from prosperity and plenty, to shortages and record high prices for basic goods and services in the span of 18 months, yet it is what it is and because I am a Child of God, and He has promised that He would sustain me and that He would never leave me, then I am excited that He is in control and that is one less thing that I must be concerned about! We have a choice! We can gripe and moan about the circumstances, or we can be “Overcomers,” and live ABOVE the Circumstances! I choose to be “AN OVERCOMER!” Paul said it best… “I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things, I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever.” (Psalm 73:26)
Be Encouraged! When the “Storms of Life” are raging about me, He is Still with me! When my body weakens and I am walking slower and my activities are limited, He is Still with me! When my fellow traveler is difficult and the relationship is strained, He is Still with me! When I am discouraged, and it seems that I can’t go on, He is Still with me! Believers, God is with us through the “Good Times,” and the “Bad Times,” and I am grateful for the Blessings of His Grace and the Promises of His unfailing Love for me! The message for today is a message for eternity: GOD IS IN CONTROL AND HE WILL SAVE YOU, SUSTAIN YOU AND KEEP YOU UNTIL WE SEE IN AROUND GOD’S THRONE, IN OUR HEAVENLY HOME, FOR ETERNITY! We owe Him our devotion, our Love and our every being! These earthly distractions and “momentary” challenges are absolutely nothing, when viewed in the light of His “Forever!” Be Encouraged…Be Faithful…Be Focused on what is Real and Important and is edifying to our God! Be Encouraged, that He has committed all that He is, to us! Our responsibility is to “Serve Him!” Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
