Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” (Matthew 7:3-5)
It seems to be the human trait, to blame others for our own shortcomings, and to hold others accountable for their issues, while forgetting our own struggles. Recent events have highlighted the existence of “Judgmental” individuals that are determined to “Blame” others for their own actions and issues! Wow! Unfortunately, this has been a reality since man left the “Garden of Eden!” Matthew 7:1-2 clearly tells us, “Do Not Judge!” “Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.” Satan uses this opportunity to thwart the cause of Christ, by highlighting the hypocrisy that exists, when we judge someone for the same activities that we engage in and feel compelled to point out other’s shortcomings. I have been witnessing to a family, for the past year, and the one overriding factor is the perception that, based on their interactions with some of the people that attend our church, that they (this family) are just as good as the hypocrites (their words) that attend BTC. Wow! I attempted to explain that we are all in various stages of growth and development and that every one of us are “sinners!” The great fact is that, through the shed blood of Jesus, we are “forgiven!” Please know that this message is not about this family that has issues with others, it is about our relationship, our growing relationship, with the Father, through the SON! When we are growing in His Grace, and we are focused on a dynamic and expanding relationship, then we are going to see the world, our neighbor, and others, in the light of Jesus Christ, and not in the judgmental eyes of our humanity! Try it! Before you point out the shortcomings and struggles of others, look in a mirror and apply the same judgement to yourselves! Warning! It may not be a pretty picture!! “You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.” (Romans 2:1) Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
LET IT GO ....
May 13 “LET IT GO…” Psalm 103:12
ANNOUNCEMENT: Baptist Tabernacle Church will be 100 years old, in 2022. A grand celebration is planned for May 22, 2022, to commemorate the first service as an organized church body! Special information, recognitions, God’s Word, and a catered meal (Parker’s BBQ) will be a part of the celebration. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend the festivities. Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.” (Psalm 103:12)
There are individuals that are rude and are hurtful in their speech and in their actions, and sadly, they simply are unaware of their hurtful behaviors. It is truly sad when one receives an email, that continues the sarcastic and hurtful theme, and the writer of the email denies the actions. Amazingly, this is a recipe for bitterness and unforgiveness! PRAISE GOD! This is not the way that God treats us! Our God Forgives and Forgets!! So, are we to cling to the bitterness and are we to vow to never forgive and never to forget? Recently, I met a beautiful lady, with an amazing smile, yet when I began to talk to her, she transformed into a bitter and hate-filled “ugly” example of unforgiveness! Dear Friends, if we are to reflect the Love of God, in our lives and actions, and if we are to be “Christ-Like,” then we must FORGIVE! This is not an option!! The Key to this entire message is simple… “Jesus suffered, bled, and died for our sins! He loved us enough to come to be our one, true and ultimate sacrifice for our sins, and His act at Calvary, ensures our Forgiveness! To have a growing relationship with Christ, we must Forgive others, as He has Forgiven us!! UNFORGIVENESS is a “cancer” that will eat away at your Joy, your Peace, and your ability to claim the promise of “Life more Abundantly!” THIS IS NOT AN OPTION! WE MUST FORGIVE AND WE MUST DO ALL THAT WE CAN TO FORGET! From my experience, Forgiveness is a release! Forgiveness is a MUST! JUST LET IT GO! GET ON WITH LIVING FOR JESUS! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.” (Hebrews 10:23)
“Good morning, this is GOD, and I will be handling ALL of your problems today. Please remember… I WILL NOT NEED YOUR HELP!! If life happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannot handle, do not attempt to resolve it. Kindly put it in the FFGTD box (Something for God to do). It will be addressed in MY time, not yours. Once the matter is placed into the box, do not hold onto it! Holding on or removal will delay the resolution of your problem. If it is a situation that you think you are capable of handling, please consult me in prayer to be sure that it is the proper resolution. If you find yourself stuck in traffic, don’t despair! There are people in the world for whom, driving is an unheard-of privilege. Should you have a bad day at work, think of the man who, has been out od work for years. Should you despair over a relationship gone bad, think of the person who has never known what it is like to love and be loved, in return. Should you grieve the passing of another weekend, think of the woman in dire straits, working twelve hours a day, seven days a week, to feed her children. Should your car break down, leaving you miles away from assistance, think of the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk. Should you notice a new gray hair in the mirror, think of the cancer patient, in chemo, who wishes she had hair to examine. Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what is life all about, and asking what is my purpose? BE THANKFUL! There are those who didn’t live long enough to get the opportunity. Should you find yourself the victim of other people’s bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities, Remember…things could be worse! You could be them!! Because I do not sleep, nor do I slumber, there is no need for you to lose sleep! REST MY CHILD! If you need to contact Me, I am only a prayer away! Love Eternally, The Lord your God!” (Author Unknown) TO GOD BE THE GLORY!! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

STRENGTH FOR THE BATTLE
May 11 Strength for the Battle 2 Thessalonians 1:11
ANNOUNCEMENT: Baptist Tabernacle Church will be 100 years old, in 2022. A grand celebration is planned for May 22, 2022, to commemorate the first service as an organized church body! Special information, recognitions, God’s Word, and a catered meal (Parker’s BBQ) will be a part of the celebration. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend the festivities. Additional Note: The Meal will be outside, at the BBQ Shelter Area. There will be transportation provided for those who are unable to walk the distance! The Time is getting closer…
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Therefore, we also pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power…” (2 Thessalonians 1:11)
How strong are you? In our culture, being strong is equated with being tough. Have you ever seen someone who appeared to be emotionless, stern, self-asserting? We refer to these folks as “strong!” Listen, regardless of how strong that you are or perceive that you are, the strength and resolve of the strongest will rapidly fade under the onslaught of pressures and battles that Satan is poised to bring to us and is in the middle of attacking our Spiritual wellbeing! For Followers of Christ, this is where the “Battlefield” really exists! In Ephesians 6:12, it tells us about the battles that we are, and will engage in, and none of us are strong enough to stand up under the onslaught and pressures of this kind of battle, on our own! Listen… “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Dear friends, do not fear the battles, because we have the ultimate weapon in this battle! God did not mean for us to fight this battle alone! He has promised Victory, and I choose to claim this victory, power, and strength! Friends, we are the strongest when we surrender to Him and rely on His power, provision and His Glorious Promises for Complete and Total Victory over the Evil One! As Born-Again Believers, we are not alone, nor are we fighting this battle by ourselves! “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the POWER of HIS MIGHT!!! (Ephesians 6:10).” TO GOD BE THE GLORY! Stay Strong, Stay Focused, Prepare for the Battles….THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

SECURITY IN LIVING
May 10 Security in Living Romans 8:35-36
ANNOUNCEMENT: Baptist Tabernacle Church will be 100 years old, in 2022. A grand celebration is planned for May 22, 2022, to commemorate the first service as an organized church body! Special information, recognitions, God’s Word, and a catered meal (Parker’s BBQ) will be a part of the celebration. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend the festivities. Additional Note: The Meal will be outside, at the BBQ Shelter Area. There will be transportation provided for those who are unable to walk the distance! The Time is getting closer…
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, for thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” (Romans 8:35-36)
The Apostle Paul asked one of the most interesting and revealing questions for the Follower of Christ! “Who or what can separate you, as a Child of God, from His Love and Grace?” There are seven named challenges that could happen to us, and they might be viewed as indications that God is displeased with us, however, these challenges are a part of our human existence, and everyone will experience these issues. Going through the struggles and challenges of this life, we often wonder what is going on! Have I done something that God is not pleased with? Is this a punishment for my activities? Does God still love me? Paul’s answer to every question about the challenges that we will face, is “NO!” God loves us and tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, nor sword, can change God’s Love for us and His commitment to keep us secure in that Love! THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING THAT CAN SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF GOD!! Painful circumstances, health issues, death of loved ones, financial reverses, are going to occur! That is the way of life, however, as Born-Again Believers, we are promised that these circumstances, nor anything else, can or will separate us from GOD! I am excited to KNOW that there is absolutely nothing that can alter God’s Love for me and His commitment to me and His Power and Provision for my living! TO GOD BE THE GLORY! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
DECEPTIONS
May 9 DECEPTIONS Romans 1:25-31
ANNOUNCEMENT: Baptist Tabernacle Church will be 100 years old, in 2022. A grand celebration is planned for May 22, 2022, to commemorate the first service as an organized church body! Special information, recognitions, God’s Word, and a catered meal (Parker’s BBQ) will be a part of the celebration. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend the festivities. Additional Note: The Meal will be outside, at the BBQ Shelter Area. There will be transportation provided for those who are unable to walk the distance! The Time is getting closer…
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Who changed the truth of God into a lie and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise, also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:” (Romans 1:25-31)
Wow! We are witnessing the attempt to change the “right” into “wrong,” and the “Truth” into a “Lie!” I have thought, and others have inquired to me, with the question of how can individuals that profess a relationship with Jesus be in favor of and promote those things which are in direct opposition to God’s Word. The answer is simple! Their commitment is either false or nonexistent! 2 Timothy 3:2-8 tells us this truth… “For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers’ lusts, ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.” Remember that there are those among us that have the appearance of godliness, yet they are far from the “Truth!” The reality is that there are those who are being used by Satan to thwart the cause of Christ and all we can do for them is to limit our time around them and PRAY that the HOLY SPIRIT will CONVICT them and cause them to turn from their wicked ways and to come to a “REAL” and “COMPLETE” SAVING EXPERIENCE through the GRACE OF GOD, THROUGH JESUS CHRIST!!! God WILL provide for our survival! God WILL protect us in our journey! It is up to us to remain faithful and to grow in our relationship with HIM! TO GOD BE THE GLORY! “I affirm that God’s power is rising in me, renewing, and healing my mind and body, bringing power to my mind, giving me success in my work. I affirm health, energy, enthusiasm, the joy of life. All of this I owe to my Savior, Jesus Christ. He has given me the VICTORY PRINCIPLE for which I thank HIM every single day!” “NOT TODAY, SATAN! NOT TODAY! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS TRULY AND COMPLETELY YET TO BE!!!!
MOTHER'S DAY 2022
May 8 MOTHER’S DAY 2022 Philippians 2:1-4
**HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO ALL! **
ANNOUNCEMENT: Baptist Tabernacle Church will be 100 years old, in 2022. A grand celebration is planned for May 22, 2022, to commemorate the first service as an organized church body! Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Therefore, if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, 2 fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. 3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.” (Philippians 2:1-4)
My dear mother used to quote this scripture to me, and she attempted to live it out, in her life, every day! As I have gotten older, I recognize that every mother is not the same. There are some great ones, some good ones, and there are some terrible ones, yet they are our mothers! I am so glad and blessed to have had a great one!
A familiar Mother’s Day poem written in the early 1900’s is:
M is for the Many things she gave me,
O means only that she's growing Old.
T is for the Tears she shed to save me,
H is for her Heart of purest gold.
E is for her Eyes with love light shining,
R means Right and Right she'll always be.
Put them all together, they spell MOTHER.
A word that means the world to me!
Take a moment, today, to express your love and gratitude to the one that is, or was, your mother. Regardless of her mothering skills, she deserves your gratitude and praise! In Exodus 20:12, it instructs us to “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.” Today, I honor every woman that has taken the role of “Mother,” and that includes those that have been Mothers to children that they did not birth! THANK YOU, GOD for our mothers! TO GOD BE THE GLORY! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (2 Timothy 3:1-7)
Wow! Timothy’s words are describing the times in which we live, right now, today! Observing the overwhelming onslaught of “Evil” and “Debase” thoughts and activities, that are permeating the land, I am amazed at the “brazen” display of Satanic Evil and twisted thinking that seems to be the “rule” for the “Elite” of our “Leadership” class! Violence and personal destruction seem to be the “rule,” in the inner cities of America! I understand that last weekend, over 30 people were shot in Chicago, and I believe that 7 individuals lost their lives! We hear about the necessity to “Educate our Children,” and the responsibility to ensure that they are competitive on the “world stage,” yet the push, related to education, is to present to children in Kindergarten through Third Grade, the idea of choosing, or at least being aware that they can choose their sexuality! AT 5 YEARS OLD? REALLY? And this doesn’t seem to be an issue with so many people!!! The notion that parents do not have control over their children’s education, and when they question the governing boards, then the Attorney General of the United States, labels them as “Domestic Terrorists!” WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO COMMON SENSE? Please understand that I recognize that some will be offended that I am pointing out the obvious, and they support these issues, but please recognize my right to disagree! Walking in His Obedience, and following the dictates of the Holy Scriptures, I am obligated and required to “Love,” even the ones that I absolutely disagree with, yet it is troubling that, those that I perceive as fellow believers, can and do support these “radical” behaviors and thought processes, with little or no regard for the “STANDARDS FOR BEHAVIOR,” called the Holy Bible! Satan id having a “Field Day,” even in the churches of America! Here is the message of TRUTH for today! Evil exists, Insanity continues, Right has become wrong and wrong has become right, people will be deceived, there will be a “form of godliness,” yet only to mislead and to promote the cause of Satan! Dear Friends, the reality of 21st century life is this: EVIL EXISTS, BUT GOD HAS PROMISED VICTORY THROUGH THE BLOOD OF JESUS AND WE MUST STAY TRUE TO HIS WORD AND WE MUST WALK IN OBEDIENCE, REGARDLESS OF THE TRIALS, OPPOSITION, AND WHATEVER SATAN SENDS OUR WAY! Just recently, I was in a conversation with a fellow believer, and we were having a wonderful chat about the blessings of God and the beauty of His Grace. Somehow, he moved the conversation to politics, and the “wheels came off of the wagon!” Oh, my goodness! This fellow believer that had just spoken some of the most encouraging and inspiring words about the power of God and His purpose for mankind, transformed before my eyes! Immediately, he became “someone else.” His language and his tone became rough, and the message was, almost, in coherent. He began to tell me of my “Intolerance” and my “Hatred” of the issues that he was proclaiming! Keep in mind, he just assumed that I felt the way that he thought, and he was unwilling to be “Tolerant” of what he thought that I might be thinking! I was saddened by this display, and I was, momentarily speechless! Could this be happening? Well, I gathered myself together and I looked at this man that I have respected and admired, and I quoted 2 Timothy 3 to him. Wow! This really did fire him up! There were 2 others at the table, and one of the men spoke to him, and he turned his venom towards this man! “What is going on with you?” This was the question for the man! The three of us got up and left the restaurant, and we did not speak of what just happened! On my journey to WakeMed, I was saddened and at the same time joyous! Why this story? Because we are living in “PERILOUS TIMES!” We are living in a time when, even publicly professing believers, are being used by Satan to thwart and twist the Word of God and the reality of HIS Grace and Glory! Be aware of the issues of the day, be aware of the evil that is around, be aware of the “Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing,” and continue to serve God! “It is what it is!!!” I just had to share this! Wow! The reality of evil is all around us! Armor up – Pray up – Study up – Continue to share the Good News…Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
"POWER, LOVE, AND CLEAR THINKING"
May 6 “Power, Love, and Clear Thinking!” 2 Timothy 1:7
ANNOUNCEMENT: Baptist Tabernacle Church will be 100 years old, in 2022. A grand celebration is planned for May 22, 2022, to commemorate the first service as an organized church body! Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7)
The end was nearing for Paul, and he was writing to young Timothy, to encourage him to continue, to keep on keeping on, and to be faithful and to continue to fight the “good fight” of faith! A part of Paul’s message to Timothy was a reminder of his calling to the ministry of Christ and the fact that he had been empowered to share the Gospel! This same empowerment has been given to each believer and we have a responsibility to “Live” the Gospel, and to “Share” the Gospel, and to be a “Witness” of God’s Grace and Love! WE HAVE NOT BEEN GIVEN THE GIFT OF FEAR, BUT POWER, SOUND MIND AND HIS AMAZING LOVE!! The Blessed Holy Spirit gives us Power for Witnessing and for Service to our Savior! His Power, His Love, and His ability to transform our Minds, come together to represent a “Victorious” life for Him! Recently, I heard a man ask another, “Do you have the Holy Spirit?” As I pondered this question, I was struck by another question, “Does the Holy Spirit have you?” It is the Holy Spirit that empowers us to serve, and it is the Holy Spirit that encourages us to continue, regardless of the circumstances, and it is the Holy Spirit that provides for our “Abundant Living,” and that “Abundant Living” is being able to “Serve Him with JOY!” So, the question is: “Does the Holy Spirit have you?” Let our earnest and sincere prayer be for the Father God, through the Grace of Jesus Christ, to fill us with the HOLY SPIRIT, and to fill us with HIS Love, Grace, and Peaceful Joy; and may HE be PRAISED and GLORIFIED in us! TO GOD BE THE GLORY! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)
Christians have a wonderful reality that is at the center of our existence! The Father God, that is in Heaven is a powerful creator, He is our Lord, He is the Divine Sovereign Ruler of the Universe, and He has provided the opportunity for us to be in a relationship with Him, through His Son, Jesus! This relationship provides us with the eternal life with God and He has prepared a home for us in Heaven. We, through the shed blood of Jesus, and our faith and acceptance of His Grace, belong to our Heavenly Father, and we have a responsibility to live so that we reflect His Love and His Amazing Grace to others. As a human, I am not perfect, yet through the redeeming Grace of Jesus Christ, I am made acceptable before the Father, and He will empower me to be a “Light in this Dark and Decaying World!” PRAISE GOD for HIS LOVE for US! PRAISE GOD for HIS Power to Sustain US. PRAISE GOD for the REALITY of HIS Grace! PRAISE GOD for the Fact that we can WORSHIP HIM and PRAISE HIM, and we are SECURE in HIM! Because of His Love for us, and His Power and Provision for our restoration of relationship, we can, and must, be a BRIGHT LIGHT IN THIS DARK WORLD! As the scripture passage instructs, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” With Humility, I serve! With Gratitude I serve! With Power, I walk in His Light! With HIS GRACE, I am SAVED! TO GOD BE THE GLORY! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

"SUPPRESSION/PERSECUTION?"
May 4 Suppression/Persecution? 1 Peter 4:12-14
**The leak of a brief from the SCOTUS has caused a “firestorm” of reactions! What has amazed me, and distressed me, is the reactions of professing Christian Believers! Satan, and his minions, are going to “scream” foul, over this “injustice” (that has not happened yet) and the thought of denying the “rights” and “freedoms” for women to control their own physical wellbeing. Sadly, this issue has been an issue for my entire life! It fascinates me that this one issue, this one “lightning rod” issue has become the “litmus” test for every politician, since 1973. The anger and energy that has been displayed by those who have decided that this is the defining issue of the century, seem to turn a “blind-eye” to the carnage and destruction of an entire generation of young men and women, in the inner cities of our land. The “right” to end the life of an unborn baby seems to be more important than saving the life of a young teenage individual in the inner cities. Listen to this: I am concerned about the implications of this issue and the survival of our “Republic,” however, I am more concerned about Believers that forget their commitments to Christ and choose to follow a “secular” path of witness and proclamation! Evil and this world are going to continue down this pathway of destruction, so please choose today, whom you will serve! “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15 KJV)!

Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina…“Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.” (1 Peter 4:12-14)
Recent activities, current political thought, and a host of other happenings, have made me realize that the times of our lives are becoming difficult and are going to get worse. The government, or should I say, the “so-called” elitists, are trying to control the flow of information and the freedom and right of “Free Speech!” WOW! The Department of Homeland Security, with the blessings of the ruling party and its leadership, have announced the creation of a Disinformation Governance Board is a United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) board announced on April 27, 2022 during a 2023 budget hearing before the United States House Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security. Its aim is protecting national security by combatting misinformation and disinformation. The Secretary of the Homeland Security, just a few days ago, declared that the greatest threat to America is coming from “Domestic Terrorism.” Please keep in mind that the definition of “Terrorism,” “Hate Speech,” is a fluid definition, and changes to suit the situation. Why am I bringing this up? It is because, the groundwork is being laid out for any speech, personal, religious, or political, that does not fit within the ever-moving boundaries of acceptable thought and speech, will be immediately suppressed! Believers, just recently, the Finnish Government was prosecuting a Christian for promoting the Bible as truth, and the Government (Prosecutor) was defining the Word of God, as Hate Speech! I was told, recently, that this could not happen in America! Really! Wake-up and pay attention to the process that is occurring around you! This is going to happen! God’s Plan will be FULFILLED! It is coming! There is coming a day when your profession of faith in Jesus Christ will cost you everything that you are and have! Listen, this is not “Doomsday” thought, this is reality!! The scriptures clearly define that we will suffer persecution, suppression and a host of issues related to our Faith and our witness! 2 Timothy 3:12 - Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
John 15:18 - If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
Matthew 5:44 - But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
1 Peter 3:17 - For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
1 Peter 3:14 - But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;
The Hope of Jesus, the Love of God, the Leading and Guidance of the Blessed Holy Spirit is FACT! Our responsibility is to embrace His Love, accept His Salvation and to allow the Holy Spirit to guide us through the difficulties ahead! Matthew 5:11-13 tells us the truth… “Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt has lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.” Humanity, yes, even Believers, have been informed, through the scriptures, the promise that, difficulties, trials, persecution, suppression, and whatever Satan can throw at us, will occur to suppress the Word of God and our living it before sinful and debase people! The intensity of the challenge is before us! WE MUST PREPARE FOR THE BATTLE! WE MUST BE ARMORED UP, PRAYED UP, READ UP AND READY TO TAKE ON THE CHALLENGES AHEAD! It is time to get right! It is time that we live out the Gift of God through Jesus Christ! It is time that we stand fast and proclaim the Cause of Christ, before this sinful and debased society! JUST DO IT! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
**The Message today was lengthy, yet necessary to convey the message of Hope, and Victory that is only found in following Jesus Christ, not this world and its standards! **

Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… ““He will yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy.” (Job 8:21)
Some of the best memories of my early years were sitting around the supper table and laughing with my parents. Daddy had a “dry and sharp wit,” and Mama was smart, yet gullible and witnessing the banter between them was always colorful and entertaining. Amazingly, without fail, I always felt better after supper, regardless of what we ate. As I grew older, I noticed that Mama always tried to see the “Bright Side” of every situation, easy or difficult. From 1960 until 1964, Mama had 5 major kidney surgeries, with the 5th one removing her right kidney. Now, picture this, it was 1964 and medical science was evolving, yet was nothing like today. Mama came home with a drain tube coming from her right side and it was attached to a large glass jar. My first question to Mama was, “What is that?” She could see the fear in my young eyes, and she answered my question with a “Funny” that would calm my fears. A few weeks before her surgery, we had a new septic tank installed and the man that installed it was patient and kind, with this inquisitive young kid, as he explained every aspect of the installation and the need for the new septic tank. So, Mama said to me, “Baby, this is my new septic tank!” She laughed, I laughed and when Daddy got home, he laughed. I learned that laughter will not stop calamities or disease or tensions or distresses, however, laughter acts as a strong medicine, soothing difficult times and brightening up the dreariness of our daily grind. Laughter builds inner strength and fortifies us as we deal with life’s challenges. Amid this challenging environment and during the confusion of what is real and what is fake and what is true and what is false, I pray that God will allow us to stop and re-focus and re-tool, so that we can smile in the midst of the chaos and confusion and, simply, let ourselves laugh a little! A couple of years ago, I fell and hurt my back. I was carrying a jar of water in my hand, and when I recovered from my acrobatic contortions, I discovered that I had not spilled the water, nor had I broken the jar. I was in constant pain for 12 days and I was unable to rest in bed, so I attempted sleep in my recliner. I thought about my first thought and laughed…I wasn’t upset about the fall; I was amazed that I held the jar! It does not take a lot to see the negative and the controversial issues of the day, however, it requires the Grace of God to believe that He has this situation and with the God Given Common Sense, and with Obedience to His Call, we will overcome and do it with a smile on our faces and a chuckle in our souls. Recently, I was asked how I could be so casual about all that is going on in the world. My answer was simple and direct… “I do not know exactly where this is going and I do not know how it will change our daily lives and I do not know the struggles and distress that we will face, however, what I do know is this: I AM THE SON OF THE KING, WHO IS NOT MOVED BY THE WORLD. FOR MY GOD IS WITH ME AND GOES BEFORE ME AND HE HAS ME SECURELY IN HIS GRIP. I DO NOT FEAR BECAUSE I AM HIS!” I am not angry, nor am I dismayed, nor am I sad…I choose to claim His Promises of Victory and to live my short time here, with a song in my heart, laughter on my lips and joy unspeakable and covered in His Glory! Be grumpy, hateful, angry, and argumentative if you will, however, I refuse to do it! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
P.S. If you need a laugh, think about this old man doing the “hucklebuck” while falling and attempting to keep the water in the jar and the jar from dropping and breaking. It was kinda funny!!
