Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14)

No event in the history of mankind is more significant and more important than the fact that God loved us enough that He would send Jesus Christ, His Beloved Son, on a mission to save Humanity. Jesus to on the flesh of humanity and dwelled among us, and He walked and talked and suffered and struggled, just like we struggle, yet He was the Divine Son of God, on The Mission of Love and the Author and Finisher of our Opportunity for Salvation and the Opportunity to spend eternity with God, in a restored relationship, because of Jesus and His Divine Mission of True and Complete Restoration and Redemption and Reconciliation!!! God Loved us enough to send THE VERY BEST! God’s ultimate revelation of His Love for us, is clearly expressed in the Grace and Truth that Jesus brough to humanity! I am excited that the Creator of this Universe, the ultimate power and authority over life and death, has expressed His complete and all-consuming Love for Mankind, through the selfless atoning act of Grace at the Cross of Calvary, and has allowed us, by Faith, to experience His Atoning Love, and to get a glimpse of the Ultimate Beauty that is the eternal revelation of His Love, as we worship and dwell with Him, in Heaven. Friends, this Love is His Grace and Truth! Embrace His Love, Share His Truth, and Get Excited about the Reality of His Glory! TO GOD BE THE GLORY…. Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS ABSOLUTELY YET TO BE!

FAITH

Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “But do you want to know, O foolish man, that FAITH without works is dead?” (James 2:20)

Every one of us has Faith in something! Faith in and of itself will never be as critically important as the object of our FAITH! We dwell in a world where faith is everywhere, yet, tragically, Faith is placed on all the wrong things! God has called us to be “People of FAITH!” Strong, Active, Extraordinary, Life Changing FAITH. What we do, and how we do it, is a visible manifestation of our FAITH! Our FAITH should be visible and clear to everyone around us. You see, genuine FAITH will always reveal itself! True FAITH is always visible and True FAITH WILL ALWAYS PRODUCE “FRUIT!!” FAITH on the inside will always produce “Fruit (Good Works).” There are multiple examples of True and Fruit Producing Faith throughout the Holy Scriptures. We see the Faith of Joseph as he persevered and forgave his brothers (Genesis 39-48). We see strong Faith as David was swinging his “Slingshot” to, by Faith, take down the giant, Goliath (1 Samuel 17:45-50). Faith was demonstrated when Isaiah spoke boldly: “Here I am! Send me! (Isaiah 6:8).” The point of all this is to reveal the absolute truth; our good works uncovers our FAITH and FAITH always produces results, and the results of our Faith will lead others to a FAITH in God and will Glorify our Father God and His Son, Jesus! During these difficult days, it is so easy to become discouraged! How do we survive? We “Hunker Down” and continue to walk in True and Life-Changing FAITH! FAITH that stimulates obedience, FAITH that perseveres, even when we are confronted by fatigue and discouragement and disappointment, FAITH that Forgives wrongs and FAITH that gives us Power to do things that we would not normally do! In Mark 11:22, it gives the answer to the chaos of our day, when it says, “So Jesus answered and said to them, ‘HAVE FAITH IN GOD!’” Put your trust in GOD and HIS LOVE, through JESUS CHRIST! Keep producing “Fruit!” Keep sharing the LOVE of JESUS! Keep Trusting HIS POWER and PROVISION for your life! HAVE FAITH IN GOD! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

**Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21)**

For many years, my parents were busy making their lives simple. I would ask why they were doing one thing or another, and Mama would always say, “The simpler the better!” What did that mean? Well, as I approach my “Golden Years,” I am all about the simplicity of life. I have observed the lives of great people of God and their lives were characterized by simplicity. So many years, I have lived in a hurry to succeed and to make a mark in life. Thank God that I have discovered that the most powerful and directed life is one that knows where it is going and recognizes the source of power and becomes clutter free and is focused, and not in a hurry! Daddy used to say that you could be busy digging a ditch with a spoon and accomplish very little. Let me point out that being busy is by no means a sin. Jesus, Paul, Peter, Matthew, were busy, and very little is accomplished without effort and work and the weariness that comes from the labor. Now, if your business is dedicated to the accumulation of stuff that are empty and shallow and hold no eternal significance, well that can’t please God, so, it might qualify as sin! I know what it is to be tired and weary in the pursuit of things that do not satisfy and have zero eternal value. My passions and my possessions, that activated my pride, were all empty and dead things in my life. Folks, I am 100% committed to being busy for my Lord! I am constantly “De-Cluttering” my life and continuing to focus on what is edifying to my Savior! Please, do not follow after, seeking “dead” stuff, when our “Living” is promised, when we seek things, that are above. Is your life cluttered with temporal and earthly stuff and are you busy digging a ditch with a spoon? “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also!! Stay Strong, Stay Focused, Live Clutter-Free…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

“Let the Dogs Bark…”

September 18 “Let the Dogs Bark…” Matthew 5:11-12

(I apologize for the delay in posting! Circumstances beyond my control saw fit to challenge my progress, and I refused to submit, so, here it is! Thank You All for your Prayers and Support! Pastor Glen)

Good evening from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.” (Matthew 5:11-12)

In recent months, it has become obvious that the “Devotional” ministry is making some difference in the battle between “right and wrong!” I have been receiving various reactions to the on-going message of Hope and Peace, and the pathway to achieve these elusive goals. We are told, in the Holy Scriptures, that the World “hates” the Believer, and Satan WILL do everything possible to thwart the bold message of Hope and Peace that is available through the Selfless Act of Love, by Jesus Christ, on the Cross of Calvary! Criticisms, complaints, disagreements about the Word of God, and its power to transform mankind, is a “Heart” problem. Jesus told us that we would receive the “hatred” and “persecution” from an unbelieving humanity, but to keep serving, keep preaching, keep believing and Never, Ever Stop! Dear friends, we have a mission, and that mission is clear! We must be about the Father’s Business, to share the Good News and to bring “Light” into this “Dark and Evil” world. We face opposition from every side, and we will face challenges that will seem overwhelming, yet we are promised victory in this struggle! My daddy used to tell a story about Medieval times, when caravans of minstrels and merchants would travel from village to village, offering entertainment and merchandise to the weary folk of the towns. These old wagons were loaded down will supplies and pots and pans and, most of the time, these items were strapped to the sides of the wagon, and as they made their way through the towns and villages, they made a tremendous amount of noise. This noise brought out every dog along the way. The caravans would move slowly through an area and the dogs would bark and yelp and bite at the wagon wheels and doing everything possible to stop the noise of the wagons. Guess what? The wagons kept moving, regardless of the dogs! Here is the message for the Believer as we share God’s Good News… LET THE DOGS BARK, BUT THIS CARAVAN IS MOVING ON!! Let the “dogs” of disagreement and criticism and persecution bark, but for me, I WILL continue to Praise God, Claim His Power, and Promises, and I WILL keep on PREACHING HIS WORD, until the day that He calls me Home or “Raptures” me to Him! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

**Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character.’” (1 Corinthians 15:33)**

My dear mother used to preach to me that, “You are known by the company that you keep!” When I observe the words and actions of those around me, and I hear the positions that they are taking, both politically and socially, I am amazed that the message of Jesus Christ, is not mentioned! If I professed that I did not like yellow, yet I had my house and yard covered in yellow flowers and paint and trim, would my statement of being opposed to yellow have any merit or truth? Folks, if we profess Jesus as Lord, yet we live our lives, proclaim by actions and words, positions that are completely opposite of the message of Christ, are we following Jesus, or are we being driven and motivated by this world and Satan? Pay Attention! As Born-Again Believers, our priorities MUST be the Priorities of our Savior! I have personal opinions that are based on my experiences and the information that I have learned and read and seen, however, the Love of God, and His gift of Atoning Grace, takes priority over any human opinion that I may hold. Listen closely…. When You Profess one thing, yet your life does not validate that profession, then there is a problem! We are witnessing a deep and destructive divide among our population, and there are those that align with groups that are absolutely and strongly opposed to the Bible, Christianity, and anything that would alter their twisted and satanic views. YOU ARE KNOWN BY THE COMPANY THAT YOU KEEP AND THE ORGANIZATIONS THAT YOU SUPPORT! Please decide who you will serve! Are you a messenger of truth, or are you a pawn of Satan? Let the Love of God have dominion over your life! Be a witness for His Grace and Love to this Lost and Dying World! Remember, Your Opinions do not “SAVE” people! It is the Shed Blood of Jesus Christ that SAVES! “For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?” (1 Corinthians 14:8) … We are in a battle for the very SOUL of Humanity and God has given us the Answer to Our Sinful and Depraved existence. That Answer is JESUS CHRIST! Who do you serve? Jesus Christ or Satan? “But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15) TO GOD BE THE GLORY! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law, he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. The ungodly are not so but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore, the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish.” (Psalm 1:1-6)

In my studies of Psalms and the writing of King David, it is thought that Psalm 1 was his favorite because it introduced the Hebrew word, “Esher,” which is translated to mean “Happy,” or “Blessed!” The message that David is proclaiming, is that, when we walk in the presence of the Lord and we seek a relationship with Him, and we are committed to doing His will, then we will be “Blessed” and “Happy!” In David’s time, the main method to establish a close relationship with God was to “delight in His Law!” They were to “Learn it,” “Meditate on it,” and to “Practice it,” daily! In the New Testament, we learn that Jesus is the fulfillment of the “law,” and, because we are unable to “Keep the Law,” in our humanity, Jesus came to forgive our sins and to reestablish our relationship with Almighty God. Psalm 1 is still relevant for us today! Since Jesus is the fulfillment of the Law, and we are followers of Christ, then we are, indeed, keeping the Law! Folks, we must avoid those that will take us away from our devotion to Christ and we must limit the exposure to the negative actions that will cloud our pathway and cause us to forget our “Blessings!” God’s word is Clear: The one who follows God and seeks His face and turns from the wicked ways, will have the opportunity to be “Blessed” and “Happy” in this journey that we call “Life!” Once again, I reference the events of the past that have solidified the necessity to “seek His Face and to Praise His Name!” Amazingly, on January 31, 2022, in the middle of a stroke, and the aftermath of diagnosis and treatment, I remained resolute and confident that my God was (and is) in control and that He would (and will) see me through to the end! I still believe, and, as a dear lady, Mrs. Peggy Wilder, that has already made her graduation to Glory, used to say, with assurance, “I am Blessed, More Blessed and Blessed Some More!” Just as the Hebrews were to meditate and learn and practice the “Law,” we are to “Meditate” on God’s Word, and we are to “Learn” God’s Word, and we are to “Practice it,” and Share it, every single day! Have you ever thought that you don’t fit in this world? Have you thought that this world and all of its challenges doesn’t feel proper, and correct? The fact of the matter is that this world is not tailor made for the Born-Again Believer! We, humanity, were designed and created to live and commune with God, but while we are here on this earth, we must live, walk, trust by FAITH! We must Trust God to empower us, to Sustain us, and to know what is best for us! Until we stand before Him, in the beauty of our Heavenly Home, we are to walk in Him, Trust in Him, Commune with Him, Believer in Him and to Share the GOOD NEWS with those around us, and anticipate that Great Hallelujah Homegoing Day, when we will, finally, be with Him, celebrating, worshipping, and praising Almighty God! THIS WORLD IS NOT MY HOME, I AM JUST PASSING THROUGH! If you see a funeral wreath on my door, please know that I am finally HOME! What does He instruct us to do? TRUST THE LORD! TRUST THE LORD IN EVERYTHING THAT YOU DO, AND TRUST HIM, NOT YOUR THOUGHTS OR FEELINGS! Friends, I get excited, just thinking about eternity, and the beauty and the fellowship with my Savior! Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.” (2 Peter 3:18)

Growth, spiritual growth, is absolutely necessary for every Christian! In order to fulfill God’s plan for our lives, we must continue to grow and mature! Think about it… If a child stop growing and developing, every parent would be very concerned! When, as Christians, we stop growing, then we need help! Listen, if you are the same Christian that you were 6 months ago, please be very careful! Go now, to your knees, and ask God to restore you, empower you, and to cause you to move towards the goal that He has prepared for you! You need a check-up! Not for your physical body, but a check-up of your heart! You need a check-up from the chest up! One of the primary ways to determine your spiritual health is to evaluate your habits!! Are you habitually following worldly endeavors, disregarding your daily growth requirements? Simply put… We must develop some healthy habits, engage in these habits regularly, and watch what happens! The first (and foremost) habit that we MUST develop is the Habit of PRAYER! The second habit is the habit of STUDYING (digging into God’s Word with a passion), and the third habit is GIVING (your time, talents, treasure) and the final habit is to FELLOWSHIP with other Believers! Try it, you will like it! Remember: PRAY – STUDY – GIVE – FELLOWSHIP! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

“My Hope, My Anchor”

September 13 “My Hope, My Anchor” Hebrews 6:19

Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil,”

Regardless of your status or position in this life, times are difficult to navigate! Violence, Moral Decay, Twisted Thoughts of Right and Wrong, and a host of evil issues that we are not even aware of, combine to create an atmosphere of difficulty and despair! As Christians, we have THE ANSWER to all of Life’s Problems and Challenges! Our Heavenly Father has provided the opportunity and the power to maintain and to overcome the challenges of Life, through His expression of Love and Grace, by offering JESUS CHRIST, as our ultimate sacrifice for our sins! I am fully aware of the difficulties of living in this evil and sinful world, and I am deeply into God’s word, as my anchor, when times seem so overwhelming, and the darkness of this life closes in around me! Many years ago, I heard George Beverly Shea sing a beautiful song, written by Ruth Caye Jones, and it has become my standard and my reminder of HIS power, and strength! When time get hard (and they do), and the challenges seem to overwhelm, I begin to sing this beautiful song, and I am reminded of God’s Grace and Redemption! It is called, “In Times Like These…”

Changing Perspectives

September 12 Changing Perspectives Isaiah 5:20

Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” (Isaiah 5:20)

Since I was a small boy, I have heard that there would come a day when people, a majority of people, would declare that which has always been Good, to be Evil, and Evil would be declared as Good! Well, that day has arrived! There is a constant barrage of “Godless” and “Twisted” educational materials being forced upon our children! Radical “Anti-Religion,” “Anti-American,” Far Leftist Political Thought, Satan Driven Lawlessness, that has altered the very foundation of our nation and our way of life! I recall what my mother used to say, and it is absolutely True today… “THE TRUTH IS THE TRUTH AND IT WILL STAND WHEN THE WORLD IS ON FIRE!” Can you imagine, standing for the National Anthem to be sung, and someone beside you, in the stadium, wearing an expensive shirt, with a chain around his neck that costs several dollars, and sporting some “Air Jordans,” and this person, during the Anthem, shouts, “BS!” (He didn’t abbreviate) … This guy was enjoying the fruits of our system, yet he has been schooled to oppose the very system that has afforded to him, the privileges that he exercises! Who would have thought, that in the United States of America, that the American Flag would be offensive to an American? Who would have thought that a slab of cement would offend someone so intensely that mental, medical care would be necessary? Who would have believed that the time would come when people, supposedly, educated, and intelligent people, would believe that there are more than 2 genders? Who would Have believed that we would be seeing the Evil being played out on the streets and neighborhoods of America? Please be careful what you support and what you demonstrate! Satan loves to use politics and the traditions of politics to promote this twisted and perverse view of life! FACT: The killing of unborn babies IS NOT A CHOICE! We are living in the midst of this insanity and, as Believers, we MUST stay focused on what is REAL, JUST and EDIFYING to GOD! We MUST NOT COMPROMISE OUR FAITH AND OUR ACTIONS! God has told us that this EVIL, Satan Driven Insanity would sweep across our planet and that we are to remain strong and focused and determined to walk in Him! Folks, I am “Doubling Down” on serving God, sharing the Love of Jesus, and “Bent Knee” Praying more, and Reading His Word more, and to make a difference, ONE SOUL AT A TIME! Evil exists, Chaos is Satan’s tool and tactic, Hatred is the result of Sin, and the Devil is the promoter and distributor of Hatred! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…FOR THE CHRISTIAN, THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

Today is the anniversary of a tragic time in our American History. On this day, in September 2001, extreme hatred and blatant disregard for human life, was tragically and vividly displayed for all the world to see! Since that day, Hatred, and the disregard for life, has continued to grow and examples of this attitude are evident, every day! Living, in the midst, of this prevailing and sad attitude, we must double down on our PRAYER TIME and OUR DEPENDENCE ON GOD’S PROMISES AND PROVISION! Stop for a moment today, and honor the memory of those who, were living their lives as usual, and went to their daily activities, and because of the hatred of our way of life, these innocent individuals, paid the ultimate price! HATRED, IN ANY FORM, WILL ALWAYS BE DESTRUCTIVE AND HAS NO PLACE IN A CIVILIZED SOCIETY! JESUS CHRIST is the ANSWER to HATRED! JESUS teaches LOVE, NOT HATE! JESUS IS LOVE!!

**Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.” (Jeremiah 29:12)**

All of the greatest moments of my life have been experienced, in prayer and the results of prayer! The scripture passage for today, follows a promise that God made, to provide a future and to offer hope! I feel blessed and privileged to be able to call on my God, and to know that He has promised a “Divinely Guided Future” and His “Blessed Hope” for my Life! You see, prayer, sincere and faith-filled prayer, is the conduit by which we enter His presence and talk with Him and position ourselves to claim His Divine Promises for our Lives! I get excited, each time that I enter the presence of the “UNLIMITED GOD,” especially, when I recognize my “LIMITED” capacity! PRAISE GOD! Because of His “UNLIMITED” provisions, I can live “LIMITLESS!” Folks, the privilege of prayer is a blessing! We can talk to God, and He will listen and answer our prayers! He listens to my “whining” and my “complaining” and still Loves me and has promised that He would provide His Grace for my every shortcoming (Boy oh boy, there are many)! So, given the promise, and believing His Word, and recognizing His “UNLIMITED” capacity and power, with intensity and with clear focus, call on the Lord, in Faith, and share your burdens and struggles and needs and desires, and leave them at His feet! Every day, in faithful prayer, share your ups and downs and LEAVE THEM WITH HIM! Pray for each other and lift up our leaders and our friends and neighbors and LEAVE IT THERE! Bring all your burdens to the Lord, put them at His Feet and LEAVE THEM THERE! Guess What? Your Husband or Wife, Your Friends, Your Co-Workers, even Your Pastor may not always listen to you, yet we have a friend, a friend that is closer than a brother, that will listen, hear, and respond to our prayers! What a privilege that we have in Holy and UNLIMITED PRAYER! Daddy used to describe his prayer time, with intensity, when he called it his “Bent Knee” Praying! We MUST Exercise the Privilege and Pour Out Your Heart to God and Expect His Blessings, Corrections, and His Provisions! Be involved in so “Bent Knee” Praying… HE WILL LISTEN TO YOU!! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

“Remind me, Dear Lord”

September 10 “Remind me, Dear Lord” Psalm 39:4-12

Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “LORD, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered— how fleeting my life is. You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to you; at best, each of us is but a breath.” We are merely moving shadows, and all our busy rushing ends in nothing. We heap up wealth, not knowing who will spend it. And so, Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you. Rescue me from my rebellion. Do not let fools mock me. I am silent before you; I won’t say a word, for my punishment is from you. But please stop striking me! I am exhausted by the blows from your hand. When you discipline us for our sins, you consume like a moth what is precious to us. Each of us is but a breath. Hear my prayer, O LORD! Listen to my cries for help! Don’t ignore my tears. For I am your guest— a traveler passing through, as my ancestors were before me.” (Psalm 39:4-12)

A few days ago, a very good friend asked me if I was aware of the events and issues that are happening in this world. I believe that he was shocked when I told him that I am fully aware and that I can do nothing to change the progression of God’s eternal plan for this world and all that is going on in it! I am aware of the “shortages” that exist, and I am aware of the “anti-Christian” and “anti-Law & Order” attitudes that have become acceptable in the politics and the behaviors of our land. I am aware of the “Hyper-Sensitivity” of individuals and the tendency of folks to be offended by anything, and everything, that doesn’t validate their chosen behaviors! Clearly, this world does not want the “rock solid” truth of God’s word to be the standard for thought or behavior. You see, when there are no absolutes, then, one can act and do anything and justify the behavior, because there are no standards! Keep this one fact in your mind: As a Believer, your responsibility is to share the “Good News” with this dark and lost world, and to navigate others into a “Personal Relationship” with Jesus Christ! Again, we are, in the midst, of the eternal plan of God, and we are to prioritize our thoughts and behaviors to edify His will and purpose for our limited, earthly existence. My friend wanted to engage in a conversation that would highlight the evil and the active demonstrations of hatred and the lack of moral and civil behavior that is now a part of our culture, and he asked me a question that I was amazed that he asked. “Glen, where is our Hope?” Really? Psalm 39:7 states it clearly… “And so, Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you! Dear friends, we have Hope in our Lord, and we have Victory over the attitudes and behaviors of this present day! Let go of the trash that is this world and dedicate yourself to helping others come to Jesus in His Grace and “Saving” power. “I affirm that God’s power is rising in me, renewing, and healing my physical body, bringing power to my mind, giving me success in my work for Him. I affirm health, energy, enthusiasm, the joy of life. All of this I owe to Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. He has given me the “Victory Principle” for which I thank Him every single day!” I am claiming His Victory Principle, and I am affirming His Power for my Living, and I am affirming that I am the son of the King, who is not moved by this world. My God is with me, and He goes before me, and I do not fear, because I AM HIS!!! Folks, please be aware that I am fully aware of the issues of the day and the politics and depravity that exists! I refuse to surrender my attitude and my life to the temporal issues of this present moment! My job, my calling, my responsibility is to live for Jesus and to be an example of His Love, Forgiveness and Grace! Every time that I am tempted to speak of the issues of the day, and to allow it to alter my focus, I am shouting to the rooftop: NOT TODAY SATAN, NOT TODAY! Please recognize your role and your place in the plan of God and work for Him until He comes again! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!

“God’s Contingent Promises”

September 9 “God’s Contingent Promises” John 1:12

Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “But as many as received Him, to them gave he, power to become the Sons of God, even to them that believe on His name;” (John 1:12)

There are many scriptures in the Bible that tell us about God’s willingness to save. For example: God has promised to save all that come unto Him, “… and him that cometh unto Me I will in no wise cast out.” (John 6:37)

God has promised to save everyone from the “uttermost to the uttermost!” In Isaiah 1:18, He declares, “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”

Our God, over and over, tells us of His willingness to save all those who will come and receive Him, regardless of how deep they are in sin. God loves us enough that He sent Jesus Christ to be our One, True, and Final Blood Sacrifice for the Remission of our sins! He ascended to the Father, and has left the Blessed Holy Spirit, to lead and direct the followers of Christ. The Holy Spirit speaks to people about their sins and He inspires Christians to witness and to demonstrate God’s Love to sinners. He does all that is possible to lead folks to a saving experience in Jesus Christ! Do you remember the beautiful story of a man names Noah? God told Noah that the Flood was Coming. Noah preached and warned men to turn to God, and he was ignored, laughed at, jeered and ridiculed, yet on that faithful day, when the rain began to fall, Noah had given his final warning, and the people had pushed him aside, as a fool, preaching foolish things. God told Noah to get into the Ark and to prepare for the journey ahead. Just as Noah had prophesied, God caused the flood waters to pour forth, and the rains became heavier and the waters began to rise and all of the laughing and jeering was over, and the people who were calling Noah a fool and denying his prophesy, came running and swimming up to the Ark, pounding on the doors, yet it was “TOO LATE!” That old man, with his crazy preaching, that had been labeled a fool and a nut, all of a sudden, was being sought for salvation. Can you imagine the reality, as the waters climbed, and the places of safety became less and less, these individuals that once had been laughing and criticizing ole Noah, were no longer laughing, because they had rejected God’s call and now, they were doomed! How sad it must have been when they realized that it was, once again, “TOO LATE!” Pay Attention! God ha send Jesus Christ to Earth to save us, and He has sent the4 Holy Spirit to empower us, guide us, direct us and to insure our prosperity in Christ! When we reject the proclamation of Jesus Christ and deny the power and leadership of the Holy Spirit, then we are like the people of Noah’s time, that had opportunity, yet chose to reject and to suffer the awful consequences of their rejection! HE LOVES US ENOUGH TO SEND JESUS TO DIE FOR OUR SINS! God desires that all should be saved! We are promised that all who come unto Him, He will Save!! Wow! I can be the greatest and most vile sinner, and He has Promised that when I come to Him, recognizing my sin, confessing that sin, and asking Him to Save me, that it is a done deal! Listen, MAKE NO MISTAKE, The one Fact of the Receiving of God’s Promises, requires your Salvation! “YOU MUST BE SAVED!” You can be Saved, but first, you MUST:

COME…

CONFESS…

REPENT…

BELIEVE…

RECEIVE…

What God does with you, depends upon what you do! It always has, It always will!! Remember John 3:16-17: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
