May 02, 2020 “ARE
WE REALLY GOING TO BE ALRIGHT?” Jeremiah 29:11-13 (NIV)
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… Jeremiah 29:11-13 (NIV)
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:11-13 (NIV)
Early yesterday morning, I was sitting on our front porch, watching the heavy rain fall and I was struck with an overwhelming sense of calm and peace. As the rain fell and the wind blew and one single wasp was also using the porch for cover, I was in awe of God’s amazing creation. Everything seemed to “fit” together in a perfect symmetry of divine order. I got up and went inside and the news was on the television, and so much for my calm! Amazingly, in a veiled attempt to seem positive, the information that was being shared was negative and depressing. I immediately went back outside! So, what is the lesson from this? Are we really going to be alright? The answer is, ABSOLUTELY! God promised us that He has plans for us, that would not harm us, and that we will have hope and that He is always available. All we have to do is seek Him, in true faith, and He will be there with us and for us! As a believer, that excites me and fortifies my confidence that, as Mama said, “Everything is going to be alright!” Please guard what is coming into your mind and into your heart! Spend time in God’s word and be encouraged that He really does have our best interest at heart. Are you in a right relationship with God? If not, the answer is simple. ADMIT YOU ARE A SINNER ("All have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23): BELIEVE THAT JESUS DIED FOR YOUR SINS, ROSE FROM THE DEAD AND THAT YOU TRUST IN HIM ALONE FOR YOUR SALVATION. ("Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved." Acts 16:31): CONFESS YOUR SINS ("If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins." 1 John 1:9)…If you would like to invite Jesus into your life, pray this prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, I understand that I am a sinner and I ask You for forgiveness. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins so that I could receive Your forgiveness and have eternal life. I ask You to come into my life right now and become my personal Savior. From this day forward, Lord, I give you control of my life. Make me a new person and help me to live for You. Amen… If you prayed to receive Jesus, I would like to know about it.
