January 19 “NOT TODAY SATAN!!” Luke 4:8
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the LORD thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” (Luke 4:8)
The scriptures tell us that Jesus gave His Disciples the authority over Satan and Evil Spirits. Through the Shed Blood of Jesus, we have the authority over the evil spirits of doubt and fear and anxiety and tensions and anger. Keep in mind, over the past decade, I have witnessed the ever increasing anger among the average American and it has played out on the streets of our great land. How can I deal with the issues of Satanic influences within our daily existence? Why can’t we say, “In the name of Jesus Christ, I command you to depart from my mind, my heart and my life?” I believe that it is possible! With the leading of the Holy Spirit and the determination to achieve this level of relationship with our Savior, and with the Divine Power of our God, we can establish authority over the destructive influences of Satan and his minions. Folks, this is about relationship! This is about Growing in His Grace and this is about ATTITUDE!! For me, I am affirming my commitment of Faith every day, several times a day! This is the affirmation that I carry on a piece of paper, in my wallet and bring out, several times during any given day, to remind me of His Grace and to affirm my commitment to Him. It says, “I affirm that God’s power is rising in me, Renewing and healing my body, Bringing power to my mind, Giving me success in my work. I affirm health, energy, enthusiasm, the joy of life. All of this I owe to Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. He has given me the Victory Principle for which I thank Him every day!” After I read this, I shout out loud…NOT TODAY SATAN!! You can WIN and you will WIN, when you continue to affirm (Claim) His power, His relationship and His redeeming Power in your life! I love what Norman Vincent Peele said, many years ago: “Give us the courage to ask for the authority You promised us, Lord. And the Courage to use it!” Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!!
