March 9 Prayer Must Be First Mark 14:38
Good morning from Pastor Glen Brock, Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wendell, North Carolina… “Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Mark 14:38)
Preparing to deal with the “storms” and challenges of this life, requires a “Power Source!” As True Believers, our source of Power is directly from Almighty God and our method of connecting with that Power, is the privilege and the responsibility to PRAY! Mama used to tell me that “in everything that you do, pray first!” She would use the scripture, found in Proverbs 3:6, to solidify her point! “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Mama’s message was that, it isn’t enough to know that God is with you; you must seek Him and communicate with Him, on a daily basis. The Bible instructs us to “Pray without ceasing,” and that is a direct indication of the importance of personal prayer! Folks, every one of us are facing challenges and difficulties and we need to pray in order to open the door of our lives, so that God can work in us and through us to effect His will for us! God will empower us to do great and mighty things, that may even surprise you, but it all begins with PRAYER!!! Partner with God, through His Son, Jesus, and claim the Indwelling of the HOLY SPIRIT and pray for God’s guidance and Grace to cover every part of your human existence! Please Lord, TEACH US TO PRAY AND TO BE FAITHFUL IN SERVICE TO YOU! Heed the scripture, for today… “Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!!! Stay Strong, Stay Focused…THE BEST IS YET TO BE!!!
